Wash with dove soap for me....remove eye make up with johnsons wipes ( the only ones I like) and use olay mid price formula..(cant remember the name off hand) it has a spf 15 and comes in a pump bottle.
Works for me...ive never used a toner and refuse to pay more than a tenner for moisturiser.Make £10 a Day Feb .....£75.... March... £65......April...£90.....May £20.....June £35.......July £600 -
My mom has very dry skin, and thread veins on her face. (Apparently, the only time she had decent skin/hair/nails was when she was pregnant with me and my sister). Anyway, she uses Borage cream, and has done for the past few months, and her skin is much improved. Her thread veins are now almost totally gone (she used to look like a drunk, LOL).
I get it from http://www.essentialoilsdirect.co.uk/details.php?ProductID=442. Can be expensive, but a little goes a long way.0 -
Hi everyone,
This thread is perfect for the Health and Beauty Moneysaving board so I'll move it over there.

I love using Liz Earle https://www.lizearle.com
and Lush skincare.
I used to use the whole cleanse, tone and moisturise routine from Liz Earle but nowadays I use a Lush cleanser (Coalface) It looks like a black bar of soap but it smells so refreshing and lathers up but leaves my skin so smooth. It's fairly cheap too.
I then use Lush's "Breath of Fresh Air" toner which is beautiful to use and cheap too. I'm planning on trying heir other toners when my current bottle runs out.
I tried Lush's moisturisers but didn't find one that suits my skin so I always use Liz Earle's Skin Repair moisturiser which is beautiful to use and leaves my skin so soft.
I still can't resist having Liz Earle's Cleanse and Polish in my cupboard either.I'm so sorry if you were enjoying this thread and mine is the last post!!
I seem to have a nasty habit of killing threads!0 -
I find my skin a total nightmare and I'm always trying different things. It doesn't help that I'm extremely lazy and tend to not bother moisturising.... I know, I know!
At the moment, in no special order, I'm using:
Sainsbury's moisturising exfoliating wipes (my skin gets flaky - yes, even when I moisturise! - and these are only £1.99) I find exfoliating with water leaves me blotchy and very dry. This is the one thing in my so-called routine that I would actually recommend! I keep these in my drawer at work for those 'Oh my god my face is coming off' moments.
Body shop vitamin E moisturiser with sunscreen... although I won't be buying more now they're owned by L'Oreal
I also use a Garnier moisturiser in a vain attempt to keep the (minor) zits in control... (a moment of weakness)
And a No 7 night cream... I have 4 No. 7 moisturisers and a cleanser lying around... curse those skincare vouchers!
When I'm feeling enthusiastic I use an eye cream which is whatever I have to hand. No change to the dark circles yet!
Another thing for moments of enthusiasm is the occasional 'deep clean' - I massage vitamin E oil into my face with my fingertips, then wipe with cleanser and cotton wool. I don't know if I get any special benefit from this, but the cotton wool certainly comes away looking very grubby!
I have a bit of an open pore issue (imo) which causes me to occasionally flirt with fancy toners - but I haven't yet found one that helps.
I'm a bit of a mess really... you don't want to take advice from meMy TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
I'm very lazy and have to force myself to care properly for my face. I found that if I use cheap moisturiser I certainly didn't bother to use it, and the only way I could ensure my poor old face got a slather of stuff every day was to buy a slightly more expensive one so that I would feel guilty if I didn't use it daily. Works for me since there's nothing more wasteful than a tube of something (however cheap it was ) quietly going rancid from non-use and a crumbling face !0

when I was younger I did very little and my skin was always pretty good as it was naturally fairly oily. As I get older I need to do a little more though. I use Liz Earle cleanse and polish and love it and then spritz with her toner and then use a high street moisturiser (olay at the moment). I would say spend good money on your cleanser and as you get older you need richer moisturisers but with a toner it will depend a bit on what cleanser you use. If you use a cream cleanser or similar then the toner is used to make sure you've cleaned all the cleanser off. If you use a hot cloth or wipes or similar then you don't need a toner to clean off the rest of your cleanser. However I've noticed that if I don't use any toner (and I find spritzing it not only means I don't use cotton wool pads and spend money but also it feels so fresh) then my moisturiser doesn't glide on so well so I use more - so my money saving tip is to use a toner even if it's only something very simple like rose water as it'll save you money on your moisturiser.
If anyone uses wipes all the time then I'd also say try a hot cloth cleanser as otherwise you're just throwing away loads of cloths (all depends if you want to reduce how much you throw away though).
And clinique toner  how they persuade any woman that something that feels like that is good for your skin I have no idea :rolleyes:0 -

I use boots cucumber 2 in 1 cleanse/toner and it's fine, does the job in my opinion. I have eczema so have to be careful what I use, but it doesn't irritate. I moisturise with Aveeno cream.
I usually put some boots cucumber eye gel under my puffy bags, not that it really helps much, but still........"I did then, what I knew then. And when I knew better, I did better"0
