This thread sounds too much hard work, I have though managed to not eat Chocolate since the start of Lent, which is a good thing for me.

I did a shop at Sainsbury's on Friday and stuck to my list of basics. My bill was less than usual because I didn't buy chocolate, crisps and cakes.I had a craving for Kettle chips the other evening, they are one of my addictions, but I resisted buying any.
I know when I am watching TV tonight,I shall be ready to kill for a bag of Kettle chips, but hey ho,I can live without them....just lol.
Lol i know how you feel! salsa kettle chips with somerfield onion and garlic dip is my weakness! I have one tiny bag left so am saving it for 24 tonight. C x0 -
HI all
I ended up spending £8.30 on programmes & ice cream at the theatre last night BUT my mum gave me £30 towards the tickets, which I wasn't expecting, so the whole outing only cost me £16.30. She also bought me a gin and tonic which I REALLY enjoyed as the first treat in a long time!
Won't spend anything today - not going out.
I have to work in London two days this week. I have £21.70 in my purse which will cover the train fares but no more, so I'm pretty confident I'll stick to the challenge all week.

Being sunday I was going to go to Tesco and treat myself to some pepsi max, about the same time the BF was going to go and get himself something nice as well. Ended up going together and he paid for all the shopping
So another no spend day for me.

Hey All,
Thank you for letting me join...
Well i have spent nothing all weekend and im working tonight so wont spend then either, and i have been paid for my first week working at my new waitressing job so thats an additional £100 this week.
Got to buy petrol tomorrow and also have that party in the evening, but i will use my tip money which is extra money unaccounted for so not really cheating then. Other than that im on packed lunches all week next week so plan to spend nothing at all as all shopping is done and sorted.
Also what are these kettle chips that drive you all so crazy? Its my weakness for biscuits that kill me... but i am strong enough to wait until someone else buys them at work this week!
Good luck all for the following few days....Money Savings Newbie

Another no spend day. I am feeling very virtuous as DH has gone to pub for usual Sun Afternoon drink and I have stayed at home to bake. I feel I need something sweet. I still have money in my purse from beginning of last week. This is a first for me! Also all the kids were away camping last night and we would usually eat out as a treat but we stayed in and ate from the freezer. I also cancelled DVD hire club and we watched what was on tv.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Hi all
Haven't been on here for a while as I haven't been at work & that is where I used to read it (in my lunch hr)
Great thread - we have already started something similar and have got the kids involved too. We all decided to give up something and put the money we saved in our Penny Pig which we will empty and add up on Easter Sunday! So OH is not buying choc on the way home from work, the kids have given up half their pocket money and school dinners (they are taking pack ups instead)and that is my sacrfice too!! (I hate making pack-ups).
Borrowing DVDs from library or friends instead of cinema.
Baking instead of buying cakes.
Going on free days out like out for walks & free museums.
(Mind you almost bought a car this w/e - but decided to wait until one we can afford comes along! Anyone seen a family sized diesel car less than 5 yrs old on Freecycle?? :rotfl: )
Is anyone else keeping a record of what money they aren't spending?
Good luck y'all.
