HI all
welcome to the new Lent challengers and best of luck with your debt busting plans
postingalwaysposting - try Freecycle, ours often has tropical fishtanks on offer
I don't expect to spend anything today. I've got OH to dole out the inevitable Saturday morning pocket money. I'm going to the theatre with my mum this evening but as I paid for the tickets, I'm hoping she'll pay for any interval treats.
Bad news is that OH sent our eldest daughter to town with £2 to buy fruit. She could have bought virtually her own bodyweight in apples in the market - instead she went to Marks and Spencer and bought eight apples for £2.
I've got a proofreading job to do over the weekend which will pay 240 Euros, and as an added bonus is a really interesting read!
Have a good weekend one and all and don't dwell on chocolate.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -

NSD yesterday and today, only bought essential items from market and health shop. Saw all those lovely new magazines in the paper shop and was soo tempted, but luckily found a freeby one in the health shop - phew, challenge saved;)He who asks is a fool for five minutes, but he who does not ask remains a fool forever.

Well I'm going to spend this evening!!!
Don't worry folks - haven't given up the challenge but going to spend less tha 50% of winnings!!
OH has a bet about twice a year - he would do this if we had a Saturday afternoon drink in the local afetr shopping, however I said no to that option today - remembered seeing betting site on Quidco so to keep him happy (while waiting in for gas man) I signed up - £10 minimum bet - £30 back (could we loose?) any away the horse won so we are £52.00 up plus quidco money to come.
I've withdrawn money & not told him username or password - just in case!! So going out now with half of winnings for an unexpected treat:beer:
Well done all of us:T0 -

Well done everyone so far.
But I can feel it getting more difficult though so I think I'll have to be a little more watchful of myself
Chocolate craving didn't go after cake but suddenly remembered I had bought discounted choc oranges at Tesco's after xmas and put them away for birthday pressies so went and got one, Aaaaaah :EasterBun

Hiya
I was working all day today so i've spend nothing. Will be staying in for next few days as i've got a cold and feel like i've been punched in the face! One way of not spending I guess.
Welcome to all the people just joining and well done everyone else for doing so well.January budget
Nothing left!0 -
Hm I'm late but very tempted to join this. The only thing I'll need to spend on is a mothers day present, and it wouldn't be fair to make my Mum miss out so I'm gonna spend on that.
I might need to eat out at Subway or something tomorrow but it doesn't happen during the week. Is eating a sandwhich when away form the house cheating? I'll make sure its sub of the day or something0 -
Hi,
Last week was a good week for me,no non-essential spending at all.
I did a shop at Sainsbury's on Friday and stuck to my list of basics. My bill was less than usual because I didn't buy chocolate, crisps and cakes.I had a craving for Kettle chips the other evening, they are one of my addictions, but I resisted buying any.
I know when I am watching TV tonight,I shall be ready to kill for a bag of Kettle chips, but hey ho,I can live without them....just lol.
I am going to bake cakes today,I already have all the ingredients and they will taste better than bought ones and be a lot cheaoer too.Today and tomorrow will be NSD's because I am not going out.0
