Well, I am sorry to say that I spent £2 on some daffs for the lounge and the kitchen.

I have had a bit of a black cloud over me recently in connection with my Dad's estate and today I reached a milestone in the administration. This lifted me, and the sun was shining and I SO wanted to bottle it and keep it for the next few days.

So to help keep my sunny mood I bought the daffs in the belief they will make me feel good over the next few days.

Normally, I would have turned to chocolate just to get through these last few days, but of course that is not allowed! So Daffs will benefit the whole family, and are better for the old waistline too.

I will try and do much better again.

    Sorry x

  • Hey All,

Im a Money Saving Newbie, this is my very first post and i simply had to register after reading about chat on the newsletter that i get emailed... im so interested... and i know your many days in now... but am i too late to join?

A few weeks ago i decided that i had had enough of being in debt, so i went for an interview for an additional part time job, well i got it and i am now waitressing part time on top of my current full time job. All my tips are going in to my brand new tip tub... (a left over quality street tin from Christmas) and all the money i earn from the part time job will be used to cover all current expenditure. Fingers crossed this will leave my salary from my full time job to pay off all existing debts over the remainder of this year! I started last sunday and so far so good.. im just shattered!

Having read all your posts i have decided tomorrow i will smoke my last ciggie and will then not budget for them again... this saving hundreds! Mothers day i have covered... i have one party to attend next week... i will stick to tap water!

You have inspired me to push myself now... its just what i need so thank you!

i'd like to join in. i've been on a money diet since last October, first boiler went, xmas, remortgage and now all the scrimping as paid off but ive just got a new credit card {had to in case things went wrong} and seeing the light at the end of the tunnel,[ getting towards paying off the overdraft] im starting to feel i can spend. A slippery slope i feel! I must keep going! i'm scared i'll undo all my hard work. maybe i should give myself a little treat just once a month co's 6 months of being tight is now getting to me! You lot have inspired me to keep going. Thanks!:T

Well, still not spent anything but people at home are starting to complain about the lack of "nice" stuff in the cupboards.....

I have not had chocolate for what seems like years and I could just MURDER a bar of Green and Blacks!

This has to be the longest I have ever gone without spending. Just hope I can continue for a little longer.......

Keep up the good work everyone!

CAFCGirl - hope the move went ok.

Can I just ask, what a GREEN AND BLACKS?
When you were born, you were crying and everyone around was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying! :rotfl:
  • TurnaroundSue - Green and Blacks is organic chocolate, very nice but very expensive.

No spend day for me yesterday, probably one of the hardest days yet, all day I wanted chocolate, walked to Sainsbury at lunch (was a good idea at the time) to see if they had the things that we couldn't get when we went food shopping (they didn't and managed to walk out with nothing!!) All evening I was then wanting chocolate. I'm hoping the chocolate cravings go away soon.

Off to the library again shortly, the only shopping I'll do is to see if I can get the items off the shopping list that we didn't get the other day, there's an iceland and sainsbury's near the library.

Welcome to all the new comers.

I had 2 NSDs then supermarket have a special offer. I have given up supermarkets for lent and neighbour did some shopping for me. My neighbour got me a huge casserole dish so I can cook cheaper meals. I was in a panic wondering how I could pay her £25 for it. DH came to the rescue. he is putting some paving down for her in exchange!
business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527
