I was sold a policy by Abbey National in 1989. I contacted Santander, who have taken over Abbey National, on September 4th, but have yet to receive a reply. Has anyone any idea how long I should wait or what I should do next?.
Thanks0 -

You should get an acknowledgement inside a week. If you havent had that then phone them up to see if they got the complaint.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). You should also check you have documents to back up your complaint, because they'll have a hard time finding something from 23 years ago after a change in ownership.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
I complained to Nationwide regarding two loans I had with them, one in 2003 and another in 2005. Both had PPI attached to them. They responded by upholding the PPI complaint for the loan in 2005 but not the one in 2003.
As my circumstances and the way the loan was acquired (over the telephone) were no different it's pretty confusing. They say that 'as a nurse working for the NHS there is no evidence to suggest you were entitled to any employee benefits' which is clearly incorrect. I don't understand how they can uphold one but not the other.
They have offered me £847.01 for the complaint upheld. I am referring my complaint for the 2003 loan to the FOS. Do I decline the offer for the upheld complaint too? All details concerning both loans are in the same letter. Today I received a letter stating that I have until 7th December then the offer will be withdrawn and the file closed.
Any help greatly appreciated.0 -

hi I was sold PPI with a mortgage going back to 2001. I had this mortgage for only 18 months and then re mortgaged to a better deal,if i am getting anything back will it be for the 18 months i paid this mortgage or as it was 'paid off' does this affect my claim?
I was mis sold as i was told ppi was compulsory and my mortgage wouldn't be approved if i did not take it.
Thanks

Your allegation is weak and unprovable and dates to an event over 11 years ago. If you used a mortgage adviser then forget it. If you used a bank you may get lucky as an auto payout due to small value payout. However, most likely outcome will be that no documentation is available.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
