Hi MSE,
I am almost certain that I had PPI when I was married, but divorced nearly 10 years ago and then later that year, went bankrupt.
Can I still see if I am entitled to claim my PPI back, if so, I do not have any of the bank details or credit card accounts, so how would I go about trying.
Many thanks.0 -

As a bankrupt you have no claim on any PPI premiums paid prior to being discharged. You can still complain but the redress goes to the Official Receiver if your complaint is successful. Martin said on tv you can claim for mis sold ppi that was taken out 10-15 years ago. I had a loan 14 years ago and was mis sold ppi. I cleared it ages ago and I really can't remember who it was with & my experian report doesn't show it. Is there a way of finding out who it was with? Thanks0

I'm in a similar situation as I had a number of credit cards and a loan which were taken out around 12 years ago. I do know who they were with but I don't have any of my account details - I sent a SARS request and all but one (my loan provider) said they don't hold details older than 6 years. I was wondering if there is any other way of getting my account information at all?One day Rodney we'll be millionaires£2020 in 2020 - Running Total £170 -

Hi
I have a current loan which I am trying to re-claim PPI but this loan was taken over from another company. I have been told I would need to contact the original company who I believe are no longer in business (first National), every time I try and Google them it's giving me the name of my current lender which is G E Money.
What do I do?0 -
Yes, it's called a Subject Access Request (SAR), there is a full letter template here.....
If there were a few accounts with the same business one SAR and the fee of £10 cheque or postal order, they have up to 40 calendar days to comply.
However, to save money, try first by contacting the business directly, if any of the banks are local to you, call in and they may try tracking them down for you.
Hope this helps, good luck.
:rotfl::T....I have been offered 2k! Thank you all! Although they say I paid 4k plus 900 intesert less 2k previous rebate? They say * This is a previous rebate paid to loan as a result of your ppi being cancelled or would of been included as part of the settlement figure on early closure of your account.
The only thing I can think of I settled loan after 2 or 3 yrs. would that be it? Or should I go to F.O.S?
They asked for a certified copy of marriage cert which I sent be recorded delivery...they say on letter didn't recieve!! What do you think I should do now?
Thank you soo much.

early repayment results in a rebate, therefore you paid less ppi as they say in their letter.
send it again?Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
Thanks,
It's really confusing when they say paid 4k, they should say you would of paid...
I think the figure is right then.
Thanks soo much for replying. It's a lovely christmas present!
