Hi, we have tried to claim ppi back through a company and they have sent us a letter saying we cannot claim as our vendor who sold our insurance at the time of sale was not regulated? is there anything else we can do?
thanks0 -
My self-employed husband was sold an Income Protection Plan in September 1991; is this the same as a PPI?
No. Income protection is known as permanent health insurance. It is one of the most important types of insurance going. It is particularly valuable and heavily used by the self employed. No claim has ever been made and it looks to me as if this was a fairly worthless scheme for us.
It wasnt. You cannot complain because you havent claimed. That would be silly and thankfully not allowed.
It is a bit like saying that life assurance is worthless as you havent died. Which would you prefer? to claim and die or to live?
Bottom line is that it is not PPI and you had a need for it and it did its job. No complaint there.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). No. If it pre-regulation then they dont have to consider your complaint.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. Old bank account now closed a number of years, and will be changing its name soon. Can I still claim PPI?
I changed my bank from the Northern Bank to the Halifax a few years ago. I had a couple of loans which were paid off successfully (but no doubt had lots of PPI). I also have had a few credit cards (waaaay back) and a few store cards (waaaaay back) so I dunno if I can claim for PPI on them. It could be coming up on 20 years for the store cards.
Anyway, the Northern Bank will be changing its name to the Danske Bank from the 15 November. If I get a letter off quickly to the branch I was with (say this week), could the branch honour my request before they are taken over by this new bank?
Any help would be great. I am kinda at a loss where to start. The rules and regulations are a bit different here in Northern Ireland and there doesn't seem to be much help (or else I haven't a clue where to look).
The rules and regulations should be exactly the same.
You need to follow this and forget about the bit where you ask for a credit agreement.

Basically, it's just find out the account numbers, fill in the questionnaire with as much info as you can [but deifnitely including account numbers and valid complaint reasons], send it off.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -

Hi
Please can anyone help, we had 2 loan with the Yorkshire Bank one about 8yrs ago and 1 about 10yrs ago we kept the payment books on those loans and paid the up before the due date. we also have the loan acc numbers, and we tried claiming through a company but they/the yorkshire said it was to long ago and the books dont state the PPi part of the payment, as they dont have records to say we paid PPi is it worth contacting the F O M.
Also We have had a loan with Abbey National also paid up early so no paperwork now. And santandair who say they have no old records for the abbey. Is there anything we can do
Thanks

If you are still within 6 months of your complaint rejection then you have the right to refer the complaint to the FOS. if it is more than 6 months ago then it is game over.
Evidence is important in complaints which have little substance. So, if you have nothing to support your allegations and they have nothing then you wouldn't expect it to succeed.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). You didnt pay the PPI as you defaulted owing them and now you want them to refund money to you. Are you real or is this a joke?
You have the right to complain and they will consider your complaint. If they agree with your they will refund the money against the debt and as you have effectively re-activated the debt they can then come after you for the rest.
You got away without paying your debt. Being greedy can backfire against you big time.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
