They claim I have never had an account with them - I went through Resolver and sent all information but they are still claiming I never had anything with them.
If they no longer have records then there is very little you can do.

Your post isn't clear, though. Did you check your Equifax in 2011 and find an entry for your credit card? Or did you still hold the card in 2011?

Either way, it's not good news regarding any potential complaint.

Use of Resolver is irrelevant, unless the Bank didn't receive the information you sent them...
  • I closed the account in 2011, is there not anyone that can find out the credit card number for me? ie Equifax etc

No. it isnt information that is in the public domain. Data protection act requires data that is no longer required to be destroyed. This is in part why credit agencies use 6 years.

Yorkshire Bank just came back (after using MSE tool).

Turns out I am due £2470 SWEEETTTTTT!!!!

Managed to not send a acceptance letter with it, but nothing a quick phone call in the morning won't sort, I am sure.

I had a claim with Lloyds declined as the say the wrote to me in March 2014 giving my 3 years to claim ( never received this letter). However they do mention they are currently looking into the disclosure level of commission (something like that) and they will write to me by the end of November, are they allowed to take this long?

Yes they are allowed to take that long as the Plevin ruling has only just come out of consultation and the FCA has given them a period to look into it.

Be prepared for very little though. Plevin only results in any commission above 50% of the premium being refunded. For loans, the commission could be in the 80%-90% range (so 80% would see 30% refunded). Credit card is around the 50% mark (so if the commission was 48%, you would get nothing) and most MPPI is well under 50% (so you would get nothing).

We haven't seen many plevin payouts yet reported on this forum. Just some credit cards and they have been under 50%. So, no payout.

Contacted them about the acceptance letter (called at 5:30pm and 8:05am, office hours of 8-6, got a message saying office was closed and opening hours were 8-6)!

They said they had already scheduled a cheque, so acceptance letter wasn't required and they should have removed that from the communication.

I said that they also put in the letter it would paid to the bank, not via cheque, they said that was also wrong....

No big deal, payment team are calling me in next 5 business days to sort out payment, but a bit of a shambles.

That's a problem with whoever sent you the letter not using the correct template (or not editing it accordingly). Some banks actually pay the redress at the same time as they post the redress letter and don't wait for any acceptance!

It will generally only be paid direct into your account if you still hold an active account with the Bank paying the redress. Again, it appears you received a wrongly edited template letter.

Are they sending the cheque or not? I wouldn't waste any time waiting for them to contact you to arrange payment direct to a nominated account, just bank the cheque!

We have gone through a claims company (I know). Filled in loads of paper work, they have come back and said that Barclays have told them my husband had ppi on a loan with them. We had a letter from Barclays this morning advising him that he didn't have ppi with this loan. Why would the claims company say we had? This involved a fair amount of paper work for them. Have emailed them, but no answer yet. Just wondered if anyone else had this happen to them. Thanks

I do hope you haven't paid this company an advance fee?

If not, you don't need to worry as it will simply be a misunderstanding somewhere and the claim firm cannot charge you if you have no complaint.

Yet another reason never to involve a third party
