PPI Reclaiming Discussion Part 5

Flipping heck, I will never post here again, the replies are tantamount to a personal attack, I have stated OVER AND OVER WE ARE HAPPY WITH THE OUTCOME OF OUR CLAIM, what works for one person may not be acceptable to another.
This is a money saving site that exists to help others save money. You are supporting paying a company over £6000 for what amounts to 5-10 minutes work and a stamp on an envelope. We are just pointing out how expensive your decision was and hope that others do not make the same mistake. If you need someone to help you fill a 5 minute form in then I am sure you would know people that would do it for less than £6000 if you cannot write yourself.Re read your signature Dunstonh you state - Different people have different needs and what is right for one person may not be for another !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No-one should be paying £6000 for 10 minutes work.I rest my case Goodbye
I am sure the claims rep that got £6k out of you is resting easiest.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
O.K to start off we have had many loans over the years, we kept getting text messages and phone calls about reclaiming PPI.
Some were in my name and some in my husbands, and to be honest neither of us could remember ANY of them, I had written to the bank years ago, but they told me because I had made claims on some of the insurance on the loans we would get nothing back.
Years passed and we thought no more about it all until I got a text message from Brunel Franklin by mistake I replied to the text and they called me.
The thing is we would NEVER have pursued this by ourselves, so I explained everything to them, they were fantastic and reassured us the fact we couldn't remember things wouldn't matter, we thought oh well we may get a couple of hundred back bearing in mind they only charge if you win............................
Today £18,832.29 has been paid into our account from 7 policies we had forgotten about.
We are over the moon as after we have paid Brunel Franklin we will clear £12,052.57 and you know what I am so glad I replied to that text in error, we are pensioners and will be able to treat our children and Grandchildren.
Thank you Brunel Franklin you have done us proud !!!!!!
Wow !! Just Wow !! £6k for a form and a stamp !
Brunel Franklin and other CMC's are a scourge.
The next big misselling thing ? CMC's of course.0 -

Do you really think the "work" undertaken by the Claim company was worth £6000?
I don't think the "work" done even justifies your earlier comment that the firm has "done us proud".
No personal attack, the criticism is of the CMC -not you.0 -

You're overreacting. Lovely that a claims company was good for you, but in reality, they'd be a bad idea of most other people.

I received a cheque off the Halifax yesterday for £1200, it referenced a letter dated 21st of July which I haven't received. Does anybody know what will be contained in this letter? Will it be important?I have enough money to last me the rest of my life,as long as I die next Tuesday.0

It will be redress for mis sold PPI and will show what they have paid and what for.
Give them a call and ask for the letter to be sent again.0 -
I have ignored all calls etc regarding reclaiming PPI but having heard reference to ongoing claims being settled on the news today I thought I should give it some consideration but still think I am on a sticky wicket. I might well have been sold PPI with my first mortgages but as they were about 30 years ago I have no documentation remaining. I can remember the lenders were Abbey National and Halifax and obviously the name of the properties but that is it....is it necessary to have account numbers? Also, I declared myself bankrupt 4 years ago and had 7 credit card/loan accounts following the collapse of my self employment business.....does bankruptcy mean that any PPI claims would be refused? Thanks in anticipation of any assistance0

Help!!!!! The dreaded PPI.
Having read lots of these useful posts I’m hoping that someone could help with my claim. Like most stories here I have been putting claiming myself off and have almost at times thought of using a company to pursue with the claim. I have had 3 various loans starting in 1991 – 2008. I worked full time and had full sickness and death policies through work. Now comes my problem reading the relevant forms that I would need to fill in I would have to say I can’t remember a lot of the details about setting up these loans. All I know is if it was optional and I didn’t need it I wouldn’t have taken it out. Is it worth pursuing with so little memory of the meetings?0 -
