    Hi,
Apologies if this is on the wrong thread, and that probably this has been brought before ( many times)

Being a complete buffoon, I have only just checked a recent bank statement, which suggests I'm paying £22.25 a quarter to Carphone Warehouse. When i inquired, it would appear this is an insurance direct debit I didn't know I had !, it would also appear that i have been paying this since 2003 !!. However, CPW suggest i contact vodafone, which I did. I have been with voda since about 2000 ish, apart from a break in 2010, went to another provider and than back to voda in 2011. The problem is, Vodafone state they cannot find any records going back to 2003, to provide the info CPW require, to mull over any reimbursement. Just wondered if anyone had encountered the same problem. any advice or rollockings welcome.

You are probably better off asking in a different section. This thread section and this thread are about PPI. You dont have PPI (on the phone) .Maybe ask in the phone section.

    Thanks, will do
  • Hi in a long overdue clear out of the filing cabinet I found a joint secured personal loan from halifax 1996 with whom we had our mortgage with "insurance" monthly premium in a pre printed checked box (so I would assume that I thought it was compulsory)Can I make a claim even tho I've been divorced many years.
Secondly I found an egg loan with loan payment protection on the documents.
Both have long since been paid off but I was hoping that with some help from you guys here I might be able to make a claim myself?
I seem to have all the paperwork that they sent and would I need to copy all this or only the relevant sections?
    Thanks in advance

You can complain. Although find a better complaint reason than that to aid your chances (its a weak reason. So, if you can get something stronger then it will be better for you). You will have to share any redress if your ex. dont use a claims company as you will be responsible for billing on the full amount even if you only get half.

  • I had a loan with Halifax dating back to 1998 that I renewed half way through. On both occasions I was told I needed Ppi to help my Application and my cancellation rights were not discussed at all. I complained after holding off for a long time because it seemed like a lot of hassle and got nearly 5 grand back. This was done using the Mse guide and templates without a claims company. Hopefully some inspiration for anyone else who thinks they might have a claim
  • Great thanks for the info I will send these both off with a copy of the documents too. Very grateful for all the templates and help on here :j

    Dear All,

Just to let you know, I filled in the forms - 6 in total and sent them off.
All have responded and said they are looking into my claim.
Northern Rock are the first to cough up and I am ecstatic to say that they have agreed to pay out almost £11,000! :j
I will let you know how I get on with the other 5...

ps, the claims co. have also stopped calling my husband :)

Ok, 4 have now responded and total so far is £26,000! Still awaiting response from Halifax for 2 credit cards. My husband has now remembered another loan, with Lloyds on which it is likely there was PPI, so will definitely be filling in another form asap. If I hadn't read up the information on this site, a large chunk of this would be going to a claims company, so thank you Money Saving Expert!
  • I wrote to several credit card companies regarding misselling in September 2012 and was turned down by all of them. I thought I had two years to go to the ombudsman and on settling down to finally do something about it today am dismayed to see that the time limit is 6 months. Have I missed out or is there another way? Any advice welcome.

You had six months, I'm afraid.
Eighteen months on, any complaint referrals will be rejected on that basis.

Why were all your complaints originally refused?
