It depends on whether the company wants both your signatures, and whether the PPI covered both or only one of you.

Also, any if there were amounts that were written off or defaulted on, depsite your DRO, any redress will first go against those.

Back on page 315 I queried whether the fact that my Lloyds TSB CC claim was too old as I got the cc in Feb 2000. Well just to update...the FOS upheld my claim. Great news! 12 weeks later Lloyds sent me an offer letter and a cheque for nearly £700 arrived yesterday. I cancelled the PPI myself after a couple of years myself so this may be about right although there was no calculation and when I called Lloyds for a breakdown I was fobbed off by 5 different people saying I could not have this. Eventually someone said they would send me it. I can't help but feel they're being deliberately difficult. Could they be trying to see if you just accept the offer, especially sending the cheque so quickly, when they know that you are entitled to more?

Also, as they rejected my offer first before I went to FOS, are they obliged to pay an inconvenience Gogw? (I seen this on another ppi thread).

I don't mean to sound greedy but I am appalled at the unprofessionalism of Lloyds and their Ppi call centre staff (lots of shouting and laughing in the background) and point blank refusing to send me something i'm surely entitled to, cutting me off etc.

Basically I don't trust them one bit.

    Any thoughts?

Thank you for all advice so far. :D

You are not entitled to it. A breakdown is just the amount you are being offered, plus any associated interest, plus any applicable 8% interest.

They are not obliged to pay any incovenience fee.

It was up to you to send a SAR to see if there were documents left, and if there were, to add up yourself how much PPI you paid

There's nothing stopping you doing this still.

  • Just heard today (after almost a year of waiting!) from the FOS, saying that my complaint against NatWest has been upheld. Thnaks for any advice I received on here, I am now waiting for the offer but at least I know I am going to be compensated for this PPI debacle.

Thanks Taff for clarifying that, its reassuring to know that they're not necessarily trying to hide anything.

Just one more thing, the £700 included 8% interest, could you tell me what associated interest is please, I don't see any mention of that on the letter.

If it was a loan and single premium, the initial lump of interest added is associated interest.

It doesnt work the same way with credit cards.

    What was yours for?

    why didn't they pay out?

They never told me, I rang a couple of times and was told that they weren't able to advise as to why I hadn't received a response. Given my health at the time I never did anything about it.

Hi, Just wondered what you thought of my latest predicament! Our PPI claim was rejected by the FOS after months of investigation. That was difficult to accept but we did (over £8000.00!) My partner lost his contract end of June this year (self employed) & was out of work for six weeks. At no time has the PPI policy been mentioned to us & they are now really putting pressure on us to make payments + arrears. Shoould the onus be on us to contact insurance or has the company failed in their work by not reffering us to them? Would this make a difference with the outcome of our case?

It is up to you to make a claim on the insurance, not the Bank to "mention" it to you.
None of this makes any difference to your PPI complaint, which was concluded when FOS didn't uphold it.
