    Send a copy in.
If the refund of PPI was a rebate from you settling early then you need a upheld and you will get the remaining PPI back less the rebate.
  • I've just had a ppi claim against a credit card with LTSB rejected because I didn't have savings at the time of having the card? Is this just a normal 'cop-out' from them to try and get people to back down or is it a valid reason for rejection? Anyone know?

For them to use that suggests they are looking at financial need. i.e. whether you had a need for the policy or not. people with savings generally dont need it. People without do.

Its not a cop out. Its a valid point for that particular reason. Especially if your complaint was one where you were saying you didnt need it.

  • Hi,

I know its supposed to be easy to reclaim PPI yourself but my parents have had alot of accounts over the years and may be entitled to quite alot of money back. I don't have the time to help them with all of it and so they prefer to use a claims handler.

So the question really is that I know a couple of people who have used 'Compensation Claim Line'. I would like to know if anyone has any feedback on this company and if there is anyone else better?

    Thanks

No one is 'entitled' to anything. You make a complaint and see if it's upheld.

No one here will recommend you a company.

  • I took out a loan with welcome finance in Nov 2001. I no longer have the account details or any paperwork relating to t
He loan. Is it too late to claim and how do I go about finding my account details? Any help gratefully received.

I'm only looking for feedback on this particular company, plus I don't see why there isn't a guide for claims handling companies, after all MSE recommends companies for other things.

Also, yes entitled may have been the wrong word, they are aware that they might not get anything back, but given their accounts history they have a very good chance.

Like I said, no one will recommend a company.

The reason no one will do that is that companies do nothing you can't do yourself, and the chances of a successful complaint drop slightly if you use one.

You still have to find out all the information, and provide that to the company, they do no work on your behalf to find out where or who the old finance was with.

They fill in exactly the same form you do, and then they charge you up to 50% for adding a stamp

If you are a reasonably intelligent person, you can follow the steps in the link above, and ask questions here about anything you don't understand and save yourself potentially thousands.

    But ti's your choice.

  • Thats not what Ive been told by others. There is one guy at work who used them, and he said he only had to fill in a short form listing the companies he'd had credit with in the past. He didn't have to find or send in any policy documents, any account numbers.
