If you were mis sold PPI then contact the banks yourself..for free, any company that you employ will get you to obtain all the account numbers etc and fill the PPI complaint form in, you will send this to the company they send it to the bank and if you win redress they take a hefty chunk of any redress that you may receive plus Vat and all they have done is post you the claim from to fill in ! money for old rope,
You will get all the help you need with making a mis sell complaint for PPI on this site for free.

Hey guys i have sucessfully claimed ppi before.

Different scenario, my aunt has let me use her credit card since 2006 unbeknownst to me t here was ppi on thus, she sent a letter last year to Halifax but has not had a reply, is she better off calling?

    Thanks

If there are reasons for mis sell then contact Halifax direct, they should send an acknowledgement within approx 14 days.
  • Really hopeful of a reply on here as I am so confused.
Yesterday I lodged a claim with Natwest for mis-sold PPI which I only discovered I had last week when I received my annual mortgage statement. Turns out I have been paying PPI for the last 13 years and all that time I was unaware of what it was. In fact I thought it was a life insurance policy which I had to have so that if I died my mortgage would be paid off.
I have now realised that I could have claimed on the PPI as I have had 8 months off sick and have also been made redundant all during the lifetime of this policy.
I contact Natwest again this morning to see if I could make a claim retrospectively but was told that because I had registered a complaint already I could not claim on the policy itself. They said if I wanted to stop the complaint of mis-selling I could then proceed with the claim for benefits for sickness and redundancy, but I could not do both.
Can anyone advise me on whether it would be better to proceed with the claim against mis-selling, or whether I should halt that and proceed with a retrospective claim regarding my sickness and redundancy?
    Argggghhh, it's a minefield.

I have received a letter from black horse finance about the PPI i was sold on a loan in 2005. I was told I could not have the loan without PPI, but the letter states that a claim will be rejected if the loan was longer than 6 years ago.
    Is this true?

I've never heard of anyone being able to claim on PPI insurance "retrospectively" in the manner you describe.

    Hello
Not sure if I have the right place for this. I claimed from barclays credit card for ppi paid & they offered £400. I accepted this & now notice they have refunded this onto my existing card, that has balance %. I have a feeling they can do this?

This will depend on the amount of PPI and interest that you will get back if you were mis sold, against the amount that you would be eligible to claim for the periods you were sick and made redundant.

If you claim for the redundancy and the sickness then the PPI continues to be paid for the term remaining, if you win mis sell you get the PPI back and interest and save the monthly payment, it really is up to you what way you play this.

With CC redress they credit the money to the card and then raise a cheque to you, give them a call and ask if this is what they are doing, do not use the money on the card until you find out what they are doing.

If you have the account number and reasons for mis sell then they should consider your claim, PPI reclaims have been won with loans from the 90s on this site.

thanks for the advice. I rang them & also queried why they charged £4.44 interest (current balances are on 0%). It turns out that was because they have transferred the money to my bank account!, needless to say that's been refunded! It was because part of the money registered as a purchase ????!!!!
