Can someone help please in the last 6 years i have taken out 2 credit cards and 3 loans. All of which have been paid off and closed.
I have no paperwork no policy no's or anything- best i can do is tell them when i was repaying it as i can see that from old bank statements.
I've searched loads and loads of posts and i cant for the life of me find a template letter to send to the banks/credit card co requesting information on these loans etc but without me having the policy details.
Can anyone help me please?
Thanks.0 -
Hi All,
I sent a letter to my Belfast bank in November and they got back quite quickly saying they would investigate. I then got 2 more letters in the following months saying they were still investigating.
I then got a letter in the middle of February offering me £750. I took out a MasterCard account in June 2006 (when I first opened an account with the Bank) I was told at the chat wih the bank official that it was standard to take out PPI!! so I agreed. But in this letter they say that the PPI was added at a later date and that it was cancelled again in December 2008, which I have no recollection closing.
This is what they have written - The bank is willing to offer you the sum of £750 which is equal to the total amount you paid for the PPI, inc historic interest where relevant (plus simple interest at 8%)...
I was just wondering does this amount seem fair for the time I had the PPI? I feel very cheated by the bank and want to make sure I am not getting cheated by them again.
Thanks, I hope someone can help
Hi baron post everything up so our man Dilus can look at it (calculations)0 -

Hi i'd contact your lender initially by telephone, they might be able to trace you using your address etc failing that you could check your credit report i.e experian0 -

I took out a £15.000 loan through a broker and they instructed me that PPI was essential in order for me to obtain the loan through GE Money the amount for the PPI was £2250.00. This was even though I was and still am in full time employment with full sickness benefits available. I reluctantly agreed and took the loan out over a 15 year period. I ended up repaying the loan after 11 months by remortgaging my house. I contacted GE Money at the time and was given £500 for paying the loan off early. I have attempted to claim for the Misselling of the PPI and have received a response back from GE Money stating as a broker sold the policy to me then GE are not liable and the Broker is. I tried contacting the broker to clarify this but they have gone into administration and are no longer trading. I am thinking of going down the line of the financial services ombudsman but not sure if its worth it if what GE Money claim is true..... any advice would be a massive help........many thanks
Hi there & welcome
I would do as Cappo suggests, contact the Financial ombudsman service (FOS) explain your predicament, and they may suggest the underwriter/insurer avenue instead, as they have done with many in the same situation.
I was going to mention the Financial compensation scheme (FSCS) where normally you would go if a business has gone down under, but they only generally deal with reclaims from accounts taken out from 14 Jan 2005, however you can still check with them, google them in and the contact details are on the site.
But failing that, do contact the FOS, and they will advise your next step from here, as there are other ways of trying to get your money back to you.
Hope this helps, good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hi, can i ask ive got a credit card claim going through and loans, but i wanted to ask, if my credit card is still running, i pay each month and it has no arrears on it, natiowide have added the ppi to my credit card, i never ask for it, hence the claim, if i win will they pay my money straight back onto my credit card or do they just put into my account
Thanks
Toni
Hi
Toni
They may try doing this but as there are no arrears, you can ask if you have a choice of getting this paid directly to you, because you have intentions of using to pay something else perhaps (maybe something more of a priority.
Go for it, good luck.xThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hi and welcome
Are you still within the cooling cancellation period?
I believe they should have one, so if you are, I would put it into writing that you no longer require their services and are requesting to cancel immediately, enclose any ref details of them you have.
If the cooling period has passed and you feel they failed you, not enclosing all the information, you could try telling them that you were unaware of the amounts they would be taking off you as it was not explained beforehand.
If they do not agree with you or accept your cancellation, contact the Claims Regs (MOJ) dept and have a word with them.

Good luck.
And remember you can do this yourself and if successful get to keep all your refund, all you need is your account number and reasons, you just complete a reclaim questionnaire, then done!:D;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
