I was thinking of claiming against GE Money. As I think they are liable as they provided the PPI. The broker acted as agent on their behalf and did not provide the PPI.
What do you think?0 -

First post, just want to pick your brains if possible.
To put you in the picture: In late December 2011, I made two PPI claims to Barclaycard, one for a legacy Barclaycard I had since 1993, and the second for a legacy Egg card I had since 2001. I also made two claims to Lloyds TSB for a series of loans and a Credit Card.
The legacy Barclaycard was sorted and paid quickly.
Barclaycard are now telling me that they need to get the original details of application from Egg, but they have no idea how long that will take, as Egg are taking their time to provide this info. They have given me the details to go to FOS should I wish to do so.
My questions regarding Barclaycard therefore are:
1. Does anyone have any idea how long Egg take to provide this info to Barclaycard?
2. Is it worth making a complaint to FOS NOW, or give Barclaycard a little longer to sort it out, given that they dealt with the legacy Barclaycard very quickly?
LTSB have 10 days left to respond to me regarding my claim under the extended 12 week period applied to them. If i'd known that, I would held off my claim for 3 days so the deadline would be 8 weeks not 12!
Look forward to your wise thoughts!
Cheers.
How long did it take them to pay out on your legacy Barcalycard? I am claiming from 1993 as well. Did they pay back to when you took out the card in 1993? Looking forward to your reply. I applied at the beginning of February and have had 2 letters so far, their still looking into the claim.0 -

Hi All,
I sent a letter to my Belfast bank in November and they got back quite quickly saying they would investigate. I then got 2 more letters in the following months saying they were still investigating.
I then got a letter in the middle of February offering me £750. I took out a MasterCard account in June 2006 (when I first opened an account with the Bank) I was told at the chat wih the bank official that it was standard to take out PPI!! so I agreed. But in this letter they say that the PPI was added at a later date and that it was cancelled again in December 2008, which I have no recollection closing.
This is what they have written - The bank is willing to offer you the sum of £750 which is equal to the total amount you paid for the PPI, inc historic interest where relevant (plus simple interest at 8%)...
I was just wondering does this amount seem fair for the time I had the PPI? I feel very cheated by the bank and want to make sure I am not getting cheated by them again.
Thanks, I hope someone can help0 -
on a Halifax Credit Card with a limit of £2,000. TBH, the card was used for a few major purposes and haven't been able to pay it off since I had it, about 3-4 years ago.0

Hi,
I had a loan for some windows from Safestyle in 1998 and paid it off early in 2006. The loan was with GE lending & I wrote to them to ask for a copy of the agreement to see if we were paying PPI. They have sent me a statement of my repayments but say they cannot give me any records as it was settled over 6 years ago (although it is 6 years at the end of this month). They did say if I want any information on the insurance policy to contact Pinnacle Insurance.
Who do I have to try to take up the claim with, Safestyle, GE or Pinnacle? Can they not let me see a copy of the agreement??
Thanks, Caz.0
