PPI Reclaiming Discussion Part 5

Hi,
I have recently made a complaint and have recieved a series of offers on 6 loans and 2 credit cards which I've had over a 7 year period. Some of these loans have been refinanced one 4 times and the other twice and two have been 5 figure loans.
However the offer is around £2000 which seems quite low relative to the value and number of loans and credit cards. I have seen someone else's offer, which seems to have a range of things that mine does not, namely early settlement repayment and interest on the excess balance. Whilst the offer does reflect that in refinancing the overall excess balance was higher, the interest on the excess balance and the cost of paying off the ppi when the previous loans were paid off is not.
I cannot help but feel the bank has made a low offer not considering the full range of implications of refinancing, but I don't really know how to interrogate how they have worked it out or whether I am entitled to this.
Any advice or help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hi, I've been in the 're-work list' with my PPI complaint to Barclaycard since October 2011. I've made 4 calls to them since, only to be told I am still on the list and they have no idea when my complaint will be finalised.
My initial complaint was made in October 2010, I was then told August 31st 2011 that they could find no trace of me paying PPI (I upgraded my credit card after cancelling the PPI and they clearly didn't check both accounts even though they were linked and I provided both details!). After a couple of phone calls, my complaint was placed in the 're-work list'.
Just wondering if anyone has been in the same position or could lend some advice? I'm a bit worried that the longer it goes on, my complaint may expire, or something along those lines.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!0 -
Hi i posted in the ppi success forum a few days back I have received a good will gesture off RBS but don't quite understand the letter hopefully someone can put me right.
I have put in 7 different claims and the first one posted back on 5th march i was hoping to have more popping through the door but to no avail,i take it they will be sent in drips and drabs???
another question looking at the declaration and acceptance sheet it says the following
"I wish to accept the banks goodwill offer of £XXXX on on the basis that such an offer is
accepted in full and final settlement of all or any claims which i might have against the royal bank of scotland group or any subsidiary companies in respect of my natwest payment Protection Insurance for loan account number XXXXXXXX."
Will this bit in bold affect my other 6 claims if i sign the declaration sheet???
thanks Alan
Hi Alan this will in no way affect any other claims you have in.:)0 -

Hi,
I've been reading all about PPI through the weekly newsletter so decided to have a go. First success from Halifax, apparently I had PPI on a credit card from anumber of years ago. It only took one phone call and today I recieved a cheque for £571 - how do I check if this is correct or do they normally get the calcualtions right?
Also I have 2 lenders refusing to provide copies of my agreements as the accounts are now closed but they were active up until Oct 2006 - any ideas how I can get the paper work or should I put the complaint in any way?
Thanksx0 -

Hi Jolene and welcome to the forum, firstly ask the lender to send the calculations to you and you can see how things have been worked out and if necessary you can post it up on here, as to the agreements, if you need these to make a claim and the accounts are closed the lender is able to deny you copies and you cannot send in a cca request but you can sar them, see the details below. good luck and if there's anything you don't understand contact us on here again.

Hi jolene123,
Congratulations on the success, you need to ask them for a breakdown on this to see if it is correct.
They are within their rights to refuse copies of agreements as the accounts are closed, you will probably be better off sending a SAR request to both, it costs a one off fee of £10 for each lender and they have to supply all they hold on you within 40 days. it's not guaranteed to shed any light but could.
Do you know for certain you were paying PPI with the other two lenders? If so it may be worth doing the SAR's.
Do you have any statements from the other two lenders, were they loans or credit cards?
You don't need the agreements you just need valid reasons for mis sell and the account numbers, a SAR may get you the account numbersSuccesses
