Hi,
My OH is waiting for a decision on a Halifax MasterCard and a Halifax Visa card and received a phone call from them last week. They basically asked him questions that he had already answered on the questionaire re sick pay, death in service payment etc.
Is this normal practice for Halifax?
We haven't received phone calls concerning other PPI claims from LLoyds, BOS, NatWest or Barclays which were all successful.
:(Just hoping it isn't a bad omen!0 -
Need some advice, im going to ring nationwide in a minute to see how my claim is going, its into its 5th week, but if noticed that they have been putting ppi on my credit card, ive filled the form in, do you think i should mention this, saying about the credit card or just said the form in, they are really not helpful when you ring them, its like im taking their money. I wait to hear a reply before ringing them
Thanks

I first took out a loan with the HSBC in 2001 (to buy a car) over a five year payback period. To be honest I'd completely forgotten about the loan. My husband encouraged me to see if I still had the paperwork for the loan and by some miracle I did! It clearly stated on the paperwork that I had taken out PPI insurance for the loan (which I wasn't aware of). We completed the on line questionnaire which Martin Lewis recommends to make a claim and sent it to the bank. Within a couple of weeks we had a letter saying they were looking into the claim and would get back to us within 6 weeks. A couple of weeks later we had a letter from the bank, stating that they were upholding our claim. We had all of the PPI repayments repaid in full as well as all of the interest from that long ago. Total of the claim was £5,300. It arrived in my bank shortly after signing a form to say that I agreed to accept the money and would consider the matter settled.
I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to this website as I'm now £5,300 richer and I only just got the claim in before the 6 year deadline. I would urge anyone else to make a claim through the channels described in this forum. It was easy to do, only took half hour or so to fill the form in and what a result! All thanks to 'The Money Saving Expert!'.0 -

As I had the relevant docs I read the MSE Q&As and thought it would be a case of sending off the FSA form with a copy of the agreements to Dell and DFS, which I did. To date I haven't had any kind of acknowledgment from either of them. As 12 weeks are up would my next step be a complaint to the FSA? I would appreciate your advice.
Thanks
Wendy
I sent the Dell letter to their Head Office, I will have to check the DFS the copy is at home, I belive it would have been their Head office.
Try the shops that you bought these from, they sold you the loan and ppi, give them a ring and ask, failing that ring the head offices of both, tell them you sent a request and when you sent it and if they do not respond within the next 7 days you will get FOS to deal with them.0 -

First post, just want to pick your brains if possible.
To put you in the picture: In late December 2011, I made two PPI claims to Barclaycard, one for a legacy Barclaycard I had since 1993, and the second for a legacy Egg card I had since 2001. I also made two claims to Lloyds TSB for a series of loans and a Credit Card.
The legacy Barclaycard was sorted and paid quickly.
Barclaycard are now telling me that they need to get the original details of application from Egg, but they have no idea how long that will take, as Egg are taking their time to provide this info. They have given me the details to go to FOS should I wish to do so.
My questions regarding Barclaycard therefore are:
1. Does anyone have any idea how long Egg take to provide this info to Barclaycard?
2. Is it worth making a complaint to FOS NOW, or give Barclaycard a little longer to sort it out, given that they dealt with the legacy Barclaycard very quickly?
LTSB have 10 days left to respond to me regarding my claim under the extended 12 week period applied to them. If i'd known that, I would held off my claim for 3 days so the deadline would be 8 weeks not 12!
Look forward to your wise thoughts!

They have 8 weeks to issue a final response, i would not waste a phone call on them when they have time left to sort this out, put the CC claim in by post, you will only save a day doing it this way.0 -

There is a 6 year deadline but most banks redress from further back than that, to be fair to them they could say that the 6 year rule applies for all ppi cases, so good for them for dealing with and paying claims up from previous to the 6 years  some have had wins on this site from the 90s, people believe the 6 year rule is the case but sometimes it is not.0
