They have eight weeks to respond fully to your complaint. You should, however, receive confirmation of receipt and a further letter informing you of "ongoing investigations".
Don't waste time and money on calls during this period.

Thanks. Its been 9 days since i posted the Questionnaire back. My fear is I foolishly did so via normal post and not recorded delivery :( Am I likely to see my letter mysteriously vanish?

Naw, they aren't THAT bad. But do ensure you keep copies of all correspondence.

  • Hi, here is a quick query. I January I found loan paperwork for Dell and DFS where the papers were ticked for PPI even though I hadn't requested it. As I had the relevant docs I read the MSE Q&As and thought it would be a case of sending off the FSA form with a copy of the agreements to Dell and DFS, which I did. To date I haven't had any kind of acknowledgment from either of them. As 12 weeks are up would my next step be a complaint to the FSA? I would appreciate your advice.

    Thanks

Thank you for the prompt, and very good advice.

Amersall, I did have an idea in the back of my mind that they only usually pay out for a maximum of 12 months on a PPI, and presumed it wouldn't be more than their offer, but wasn't sure if they were intending to add it on, or not... that would have been nice if so ;)

Anyway, I'm just satisfied that they are paying back all the unnecessary insurance and interest... it's a shame they didn't pay it at 13.9% like I did, and not the 8%, but it's a a welcome windfall, and I desperately need it to be honest, so I'm a happy bunny.

To anyone in doubt of claiming, I'd say go for it, you've nothing to lose, and everything to gain, and all for the price of a recorded delivery letter!

I don't think you would have received anymore, unless the claim was worth more than the mis sell then you would have got the difference.

The interest you paid is included in the redress payments, they gave you back the ppi you paid to date with interest plus 8%, a nice amount, enjoy spending xxx.
