    The Bank likely won't have any records beyond six years!

    I have given them 14 days from the date of the letter.
    I'm afraid you have no such right to demand a reply within that given timescale.
    Unfortunately, standardised response letters are used all the time by lenders to both reject and uphold complaints-it doesn't mean your complaint was not investigated or that by "robustly" responding to their "full and final" letter you'll somehow force them to re-consider.
    Unless you can provide new and very compelling evidence, the next stage of your complaint if you're not happy is the Ombudsman:

  • Quick question.

    If i submit more evidence against rejected claims does the 8 week timescale for a reply start all over again...

    Just in the process with the halifax on a few things..they said they
    were happy to look at more evidence so i have supplied it...

    Fingers crossed...

    No, they can now respond at their leisure. Do be aware that unless you have provided very compelling new evidence the strong likelihood is that they'll simply reiterate what they said in your original rejection.
    There is really very little to be gained by continuing such correspondence with the Bank, the next stage of your complaint is to refer it to the Ombudsman if you remain dissatisfied;
