Yes, it does seem that recently there has been success in regards of the insurer.
Ok this is of course on other sites as well, but OTR there was success with some last week. (one of those I tried to help)
Okay we could do with even more, but will say it's not an easy one, can take some time, and it comes down to wording as well.
I am currently on to one, so see what happens with that, I shall keep you posted. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Phoned First Plus this morning, they have lodged the complaint over the phone, asked why we thought we were mis-sold etc, they asked us to send in the completed form, which I have done this afternoon. Will wait and see what they come back with. Thank you for your advice so far people, very much appreciated0

I hope FP pay up for you, let us know what they say.0

has anyone out there had any sucess claiming against ppi sold on nationwide mortgages?
MPPI has the lowest success rate of any type of PPI. Some will have success but it will depend on their reasons.I have had a look at documentation which does state on an information sheet that you are not entiteled to take it out form them and it is optional.
Which is good news for Nationwide but bad news if you want to complain. They also sold me an aviva healthcare inurance 'income protection' which seems a very similar product
That is permanent health insurance. Not comparable to PPI. PPI is payment protection. The Aviva plan is income protection.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). I had taken out a bridging loan to build 2 properties in 1998 from ULSTER BANK. I wondered if i could claim back ppi on the loan if i paid it also not sure if i can find out if it was paid.0

Hi
After winning our claim against Black Horse (£4505) we are now trying Airdrie Savings Bank. We have had a few loans over the years so I wrote to them asking if we had PPI. We received a reply and I was shocked to find out we have 6 accounts with PPI. I was convinced that we had never taken insurance with any bank loan. I have now completed the form to send back to them, could you tell me if I can use the same form for all the accounts or do I need a separate 1 for each claim. I don't have any dates or how much the loans were for all I have is the agreement numbers which they gave me.
Thanks.0 -

You can complain if you wish. although if you dont know if you had it then it probably means you dont know if you were mis-sold. So, what would be your reasons for complaint?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. Hello
I'm new to the forum.
Lloyds recently rejected my claim for PPI on 4 loans dated from the 90's through to 2008. I felt that I was forced to take the PPI and not given a choice. I also had fairly good workplace benefits and would not have taken out the policies if given a choice. I even asked for the PPI to be taken off the loan accounts a number of times when I visited my branch but this was ignored and I was told that this was not possible.
The rejection letter was fairly standard fare and not individual to me at all so I have responded robustly giving more reasons why my claim should succeed. What are the chances of being successful with this further response? I have given them 14 days from the date of the letter.
Thanks0 -
You can respond as robustly as youlike, but unless you give them more evidence it was missold, they'll still refuse you.
They do seem to be responding more positively if you question whether or not they fully investigated your complaint, but that may only be appearances from the people who've already posted success with that tactic.
I'd be composing your complaint to the FOS, especially if they included the FOS leaflet in yuor response.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
Dear Taff
Thanks for your response.
I have also included the fact that at least 2 of the loans (I don't have the evidence from the other 2 but I think it also applies to them as well) were front loaded so that should help as well, shouldn't it?0
