PPI Reclaiming Discussion Part 5

Hi,
Can anyone offer advice please?
We have a First Plus loan that was taken out via dial4loans in 2003. Dial4loans is no longer trading.
First plus loan is still active, never missed a payment, had 5 year rebate in 2008, definitely mis-sold PPI.
Who do I send the claim to now that dial4loans is not trading?
Will First Plus tell me to 'jog on' if I send it to them?
Where do I go from here?
Thank you in advance for your help.0 -
Send the complaint to First Plus, before you do I would give FOS a call and ask what you do if FP say no.
The FSCS cannot help here as they only compensate for loan PPI from the 14th Jan 05.
If you have a win with these, they may give you a couple of options as to what you want the win to go to, you or the loan, it is imperative that you take the offer that resets the loan, this takes the whole PPI off the loan and will save you thousands in interest over the remaining term.
In your complaint don't forget to tell them that the PPI with interest is on the loan to term end, you have taken the cash back at the 5 year point but the whole PPI with interest is still on the loan to term end with interest but you no longer have cover.
This is Single Premium PPI at it's worst, hope you don't hit a stumbling block due to the year and the broker is no longer in business.0 -
Thank you Amersall, I will call FOS in the morning before sending off the complaint. I have quoted all of the reasons you have suggested for mis-selling PPI.
Is it likely FOS will take on the complaint if FP reject the claim?0 -

Hmm, would FP have to tell me who the insurer is I wonder. My concern is that FP, FOS and the Insurer (whoever that is) would tell me that Dial4Loans are responsible for the mis-sell and because they no longer trade then I would have no joy0 -

If at first you don't succeed try, try, try again.

Hi there. I have just contacted mbna regarding PPI mispayments on a credit card and also Santander regarding PPI mispayments on a loan. A complaint was put in on my behalf on the phone by each bank. Do I need to follow this up with a written form of complaint or will that go against my verbal complaint on the phone. I was advised by the person I spoke to on the phone that I do not need to snd a form in as well as they had taken all the information from me. Anyone else had the same respone when you rang?0

This is not something I personally would have done, I prefer a proper audit trail of what I have communicated to the Bank.
Too late now, of course.
Good luck!0
