Can't help you with this as it's all very confusing.
Either Yorkshire Bank can time travel or you have your dates mixed up :rotfl: You say that you took out a CC in 1999, then you say that PPI was added in 1994. That's 5 years before you had the card!!
You also say that you didn't know that PPI was added until 8 weeks ago, but then go on to say that you cancelled the PPI in 2004.
I can see why they are not upholding your claim if you explained your reasons for mis-sell as clearly as you have explained the situation here.
Whoops!! Sorry, let me start again! Im not very good at all this
I took out a cc in 1999 the PPI was added in 2004, I did get a letter in 2004 and cancelled the PPI when I received it. I didnt know it was still ongoing as the cc is now with a debt management company. I wrote to the Yorkshire bank just to see if I had paid any that I didnt know about and it turns out it was never cancelled when I called them.
Sorry again0 -

That's a bit better, LOL.
Do you have any evidence that you cancelled it? Did you send them a letter of cancellation? or was it all done by phone?
If you have proof that you cancelled it then get back to them with this. One thing to bare in mind is that if you do get anything back it will go straight back to cover the debt you have with the bank.0 -

LOL, No I did it over the phone. I know it will go to the debt but thats fine, better than nothing.
They state 'this decision if final' does this mean I cant take it any futher?0 -

Your next point of call would be to the FOS, but that is currently taking about a year to get a decision from them. The thing to remember here is, although it could take over a year with the FOS, if your claim is upheld you will get your money back eventually. For the price of a stamp it's worth it in my opinion.0 -

Thanks so much for your help, I got there in the end! lol:o0 -
Hi,
Not sure this is the correct way to get an answer to my question.
I have won a ppi claim with egg for a loan of £2000 over 24 months.
They will be paying the following back -
total ppi paid £281.35,
plus interest on premiums paid £20.83,
plus 8% interest £108.64,
total = £410.82
Less any previous rebate paid £98.48
Total amount of compensation = £312.34
From memory, I paid everything on time, in full until the loan finish and did not realise I had ppi so am completely confused to why they are deducting £98.48?
the explaination on the letter states 'This is a previous rebate paid to your loan as a result of your PPI being cancelled or would have been included as part of the settlement figure on early closure of your account'.
If anyone can help i would really grateful.

Ask them to show the loan settled early or the PPI cancelled, they have applied the rebate for a reason, if you have proof that the PPI was not cancelled previously or that the loan ran to term then send the proof.0
