  • I don't know if this post is in the right place or not. But i just wanted to say
I have looked on here many times as i have debts and wanted to cry. I tried to claim ppi back 2 years ago and was told no chance. I saw the change in the rules on ppi and thought i will give it a go nothing ventured nothing gained. Long story short 7 weeks ago i downloaded the claim form ,today HSBC have offered me 14000.00 OMG. I thought i would be told to get lost. So please do apply for your ppi back by yourself using the templates:beer:. I am now well on my way to debt free i can sleep tonight for the first time in years. All i can say is thank you to everyone who is part of this web site.

Capital one & American express have both written to me twice since there acknowledgment letter, saying they need more time, does this mean there is ppi on these accounts, or are they just playing the game, i have no statements showing it due to it being a long time ago, they have both quoted the old account numbers,

Hi I wrote of to capital one as well on June 22nd they sent a reply back one week later and now I received a letter last week saying they need more time have you heard anything back yet Thanx big Elaine

Can anyone relate or help to what i can do next, ive done the first contant with my mbna card and they have sent me a the credit agreement and term and conditions of insurance. I havnt yet made the claim.

But the credit agreement they have sent me is not the one i signed it has a completely different signature and date with all my details on and the ppi section is crossed through but i have kept statements from 2004 stated i paid at least £20 a month for 5 years.

do i continue with the claim or take this even further.

Put the claim in with a copy of the agreement, explain about the agreement and give reasons for mis sell.

    Hi

    WELCOME FINANCE!!!!!!!

Have had a letter from Welcome Finance regarding a joint secured loan me and my ex husband had back in 2002! They state they need his authority for me to act in this matter as he is the lead name on the agreement. I have a copy of the agreement and it does not state who is lead etc etc on the loan it is just both customer names. Called them and advised i have no idea where my ex husband is and cannot obtain authority from him, plus I made all payments to them from my sole bank account and can prove this however they unwilling to listen !!! I know he has an outstanding loan with them in his name and does not involve me at all. Have waited 8 weeks for them to tell me this!!!!

Anyone any ideas on what to do next???

    Thanks in advance x

You will have to contact your ex as this is a joint agreement, they need both signatures to do the claim.
As this was 2002 they were not regulated and you may have to find out who the insurer was to make a claim, you will still both have to sign.
  • Hello all, I recently put in a claim to Santander for a alliance and Leicester credit card they have sent a letter this morning which reads,
The alliance and Leicester credit cards accounts were acquired by MBNA in march 2003 and therefore any ppi paid on the card following this date, is the sole responsibility of MBNA.
As part of out investigation, we would normally review the documentation retained from the time the ppi policy was initially sold . Unfortunately in this instance we are unable to locate the exact payment history of premiums over the period you have requested as we only hold records for 6years. This time period has unfortunately elapsed.
As a result we are closing our record in absence of evidence of a ppi sale by alliance and Leicester.
If you are able to supply any factual evidence paid prior to march 2003 (such as statements) we are prepared to review our decision.

What do I do now I have no paperwork except 2 old statements for 2007, would it be worth sending a claim to Mbna.
I don't know what to do next, would appreciate any advice :)

Put the claim into MBNA and see what they come back with.

I've tried searching the web and forums but can't find an answer to my question.

Basically I wrote to Halifax in 2008 complaining about PPI I'd had with them since 2004. My complaint was rejected, and I did nothing more about it at the time (I know now I should have gone to the FOS).

Last month, after reading others' successes with Halifax, I wrote again to request my premiums back. I received a reply saying they would not reconsider my complaint again as a final response had already been given in 2008.

Anything more I can do? I suspect the answer is no, but wanted to check :o

    thank you
  • Dont see many success stories on here regarding Black Horse.

Am i right in thinking they are the hardest to deal with.

They just seem to be churning out the same rejection letters to everybody.

Hi all, I submitted a PPI mis-sold complaint to Barclaycard. I had the details of 1 Barclaycard from old credit reports but I know I had at least one other Barclaycard some years ago. Anyway I put all the details in my complaint form ie old addresses etc. Barclaycard responded saying there wasn't PPI on the account.

Thanks to you guys on here - I've had a couple of successes with PPI mis-sold complaints:T
    Halifax loan from 2000 - 2003 = £3209.16 refunded
    MBNA credit card 2000 - 2004 = £2388.50 refunded

I've sent one complaint to FSO for an Egg credit card which I had from 2001 - 2005. They didn't uphold this complaint stating it was a non advised sale.

Anyway part way through my Egg card I remember calling them to get the PPI removed as it was then that I realised that I didn't need it but that said any credit I took prior to this date had PPI on it and I know I had a Barclaycard from 1997 to 2000.

I sent a SAR request together with £10 to Barclaycard they responded saying that if my SAR request is about PPI I didn't need to send £10 and they enclosed my cheque. They asked me to confirm what the request was for so I confirmed it was for PPI. They then just sent me a print out containing the account numbers of my current Barclaycard and the one other card I was aware of - both had a 'N' in the 'account PPI flag' column but nothing about the card I held between 1997 to 2000. Is it possible they could be trying to pull a fast one....
  • I posted about a week ago, asking advice on how my girlfriend could start the process when she has very few records of loans etc. that she previously had.

Just another quick question, some of the adverts for the companies say that they can tell you in 5 minutes if you have a claim. If she calls them up & they say that she has a claim is she then commited to use they to recover the money, or could she feasibly beat the system by getting them to find if she has a claim & then do the paperwork herself?

    Thanks in advance!
