Hi all,
I have just sent off the first PPI claim template. I have got one back from Creation finance company who are looking another £10 for me to access the t&c of my contract - do this sound like i should pay the £10?
Also a few of the credit cards i had out say im not entitled to the t&c as the account is settled and closed. Anyone got any advice on this matter?0 -
What does it say on the agreement and did you pay this in one monthly payment each month that included the loan payment?.
I didn't have a loan but agreed to pay this monthly fee anyway, the woman who I originally applied for a loan with over the phone offered me this kind of insurance at the end of the call after she refused my loan as I didn't really feel as though I could say no I agreed. It doesn't appear on my bank statements anymore & can't remember what it was titled on them.0 -
Right, I've established that I had front loaded PPI, well amersall has. Is this the same as a single premium ppi?
I sent a complaint to natwest for mis selling ppi, but my complaints were very weak and they rejected my complaint. !I'm going to write back to natwest regarding the front loaded ppi. How do I word it?? I just want to try and make out like I know what I'm talking about!!!Thanks for all your help so far - it's much appreciated.0 -
Hi again all,
My missus & I had 2 separate PPI claims we wished to pursue, both with MBNA.
My missus' one was quite straightforward, she held one between approx, 2001 & 2007, at 1 time had a balance of about £1000 & is convinced she was paying PPI on it when she didn't need it as she gets paid when she's off work anyway.
My one is more complicated, I had it from roughly 2000 until about 2004/05, I can't remember exactly,I ran up a balance of about £3500-£4000 for approx 18 months -2 years,& I made a claim in 2003/04 after being off work for 2 months.I received just 1 payment thanks to their qualifying period scam, & I'm pretty sure I cancelled the PPI on my card not long after that, & had paid it off in full within about 18 months. There may well have been quite a few late payment charges thrown in there as well.Am I better to use a credit reference agency to find out the full details about the cards or pay the £10 & ask MBNA direct? (I don't know my MBNA a/c no.,but my missus knows hers).
Thanks in advance for any reply.
Rob.
Anyone reading this who is unsure whether to claim or not should take it from a financial novice like me,do it sooner rather than later, it is DEFINITELY worth it.
Before I send my claim off separately,I just need a little more guidance please.
My card was paid off in full in the summer 2004,I don't know the account number, what is the best way to get it? I'm sure I read on here somewhere a while back that it could be possible to simply ring them with whatever details you had about the account,& see what they came back with,is this right? If so, does anyone have an up-to-date telephone number for this?
If not, would my a/c no. be available on one of those credit history sites, like experian? If so,would it not be possible to get a free 28-day trial & then cancel after you have the required info? Would this also show what payments I was making or will I need 1 of those SARS letters for that?
How much of a problem is the fact that its around 8 years since the card was paid off? Have I been 'timed out',as it were?
Once again, thanks for any reply,
Rob.If you're not living on the edge, you'll take up too much room.0 -

Single premium PPI is the same as front loaded PPI.
You may write back to Natwest, but if they have already issued a decision to you (if their letter says at the bottom that you can take the case to the ombudsman within 6 months), then you may have better luck there (although it will take a while). As in how to word a letter, MSE has good advice on that (I don't have the link, sorry).
If Natwest has not issued a decision (as per the above), then your reply to them depends on why you feel the fact the PPI was front loaded was bad. Had you had previous loans? Were you planning to keep this loan for only a couple of years? Was there another reason?0 -
Thanks for that. I took the loan out for over 5 years but paid it back after 2 years. I don't understand why front loaded ppi was bad so I don't know what reason to give....I don't really know how it affected me...so confusing this PPI! Ha0

I have done all I can with mine and my wife’s just case of waiting for a response now.
Talking to family member last night about Lloyds his wife has had two loans with front loaded PPI.
She was diabetic only had one kidney and had a history ofheart attacks she was on benefit and did not work and registered disabled.
Unfortunately she has passed away I have read that a complaint can still be made, as this would form part of the estate.
Any ideas on what basis I would the claim on his behalf just the front loading ,health?
Anyone tried this and been successful?0 -
bunnie1980 wrote: »Thank you; ok so what do i need to put in the letter, is there a template i can use and is it right you can claim back the interest? The agreement states that the PPI was for £1069.97 at 10.6% from January 2008 to December 2012.
Use the ombudsmans questionnaire to send to the company and make a copy in case you have to go to FOS later.
Where it asks "why do you think you were mis sold this product ", you put that this was a Single Premium PPI that was put on the loan to term end with interest and you were not told the full cost of this policy or the unfair rebates at the point of sale.
If you win the PPI and the interest is given back to you plus the 8% you need to be
"put back into the position that you would have been had the PPI not been added to the loan", this takes care of the interest.

In 2000 I took a mortgage out with Skipton B/S and they put the PPI on this.
Have sent the forms off from this site and now had a response. They have confirmed that I arranged my mortgage using the services of an introducer (Kingfisher Mortgages) and as Skipton provided no advice with regards to the mortgage or insurance, any concerns I have should be directed directly to the introducer, Kingfisher, but from what I can see, this company has now been dissolved.
They also state that 'the product you chose with your introducer was subject to you taking & maintaining until 28.02.2002, one of the societys three insurance products. You chose our Skipton Assured MPPI policy'. I didnt choose to take this but the other two policies were the standard Buildings & Contents policies and I already had these elsewhere & I was told to take it or lose the mortgage.
Does anyone know what I can do now?
Post the mortgage question here

they can help you more.
With regards to the buildings and contents insurance, if the cover you already had in place for these would have covered the rebuilding of the property should the worst happen then put a complaint in as you did not need two types of the same cover.0 -

Just wondered if anyone else was having any trouble with First Plus. I took out a secured loan in 2005 with who i thought was secured loans with Barclaycard. This is who i phoned up and still have the original leaflet with the phone number with Barclaycard secured lending. All my paperwork is from Barclaycard and even a settlement letter is from them. I never went to a broker. First Plus sent me a final response letter saying that my loan was brokered by loans.co.uk who i've never heard of. Loans.co.uk have since replied saying that me and my partner have never had a loan with them. Phoned first Plus who have passed this on to there complaints department and now this is going to take another five days to find out who sold me the loan. Even my insurance says it is with Barclays Dublin. Very long winded
If it is Loans.co.uk then FP should put the complaint into them if it is not then FP should deal with this complaint, if FP have not got back to you in the 5 days then let them know you are going to the FOS.
This PPI was mis sold and FP need to get this claim under way either with themselves or Loans.co.uk.
It is possible that this loan was introduced to Barclays by Loans.co.uk,in any event, it does not matter who sold the loan and PPI this is a win.0
