I have had a rejection letter from Halifax, still waiting for answers from Barclaycard and Capital One. I have just found Cap One statements from 2000, cannot believe I have been paying this ppi since then!!!!! Really hope get some good results from these claims as we really struggling
. Dont know what to do about the Halifax claim as they say was made in branch and the person dealing with the application did not act unfairly? Any help would be appreciated as obviously cannot remember agreeing to any of these insurances but up to all the publicity did not even realise i was paying it!!! stupid eh!!!

Get back to them and use the Single Premium as a reason for mis sell, this will help your claim.0 -

We take any enquiry of this nature very seriously and as part of our investigation we note that your order was placed on 10th March 2001 which was prior to FSA regulation of general insurance.

Just wondering if anyone can help , when i turned 18 i received my debit card and mentioned on phone to man at rbs that i needed it to do a credit check and he suggested a credit card but didnt mention anything about PPI.
I was quite badly in debt and mentioned to rbs about ppi and they offered me £70 and as that took me under the balance i accepted and subsequently paid it off within the year.
Now it seems i was paying PPI for roughly 2years and feel £70 was a bit short but can i reclaim or is it once youve accepted , thats it finished.0 -
You can put them all in one envelope, HSBC do seem pretty good, glad they steered you away from using a claims co who only do what you are now doing and have the cheek to charge a hefty % plus Vat if you win.
Thanks

On the settlement figure paperwork does it state the early settlement rebate for the PPI?, they need to see this figure to show that you had the PPI on the account from the start date to the settlement date.
Just send the complaint into FOS just as you did with the bank, put copies of all the letters that you have and tell them you were mis sold this PPI and would like them to reconsider the rejection due to the fact that you have the agreement and the settlement figures, did you use the Single Premium reason for the mis sell initially? if you did then put that to the FOS.
The settlement figure paperwork does not mention the PPI, its just amount repayable and the rebate.
But some sums will prove that we had paid 68 installments of the total loan including PPI and that agrees with their top line figure before rebate. It says it calculated in accordance with consumer credit (rebate on early settlement) regulations 1983.
Not sure what the single premium reason actually means. In the loan agreement, they outline loan add interest say total amount then ppi cash price for Life, then ASU, total cash price, add interest, Total amount payable
Then later on down give the monthly installment which includes both.
Is this single premium? If so what do I say for misselling reason?
I had said it was missold because it did not fit our needs, they did not listen to what we needed even though we both had secure work benefits, the sales man told us we would not get the loan unless we took out the insurance.( We were using the loan for consolidation including an existing HFC laon, so we could not afford this. So formisselling, it did not our requirements and they did not identify our needs by getting information from us, although in fact they got information but ignored our needs.
Ive been looking at the FOS case histories and they say to keep it personal and seem to suggest you need to know what regulatory bodies the company was under at the time. So at time of taking out laon HFC were under Assoc.of British Insurers and at the time of settlement Household bank was a trading name for HFC and their paperwork says was authorised and reg.by FSA. I'm hoping talking about all of this to FOS will be enough.
Any thoughts tips? Can you direct me on the single premium thing?0 -

They are correct, give FOS a call and ask if it is worth sending the complaint to the insurer.
