I've only just sent my letter to Halifax to see if I am eligible to make a claim (Step 1) but I've not seen too many stories regarding Halifax claims or any successful ones
There have been a great number of wins with these, fingers crossed for yours.

    Hi everyone,

I had an initial offer from HSBC after my first letter to them. This offer only covered the period as far back as 2005 and they said they were not obliged to keep records further back than this. They stated that if I had Credit Card statements which went further back than this I should send them in so they could consider them. I had some statements which went back about another year so I sent copies in 6 weeks ago and have heard absolutely nothing. Just over a week ago I tried ringing the numbers on the letters - both of which told me I would be connected as soon as possible and then cut me off! I finally found a number here on the forum and got through to a real live human being. I checked with her that the copies of the statements had arrived and she confirmed they have had them since 16th May and offered to put a note on the file to say I had rung. How long to I leave this and what do I do next?
Give them a couple of weeks and contact them then if you have not heard anything.

Hi Just a quicky to say i was really pleased yesterday when i received a letter from the FO telling me that after MBNA had rejected my claim that they had found in my favour and that MBNA had to pay up for the PPI, in the letter it states as a goodwill gesture so we shall see. I did the cliam etc after following the links on this site and was disappointed when turned down but after taking it that one step further with the FO i am very very pleased and just wait to see how much i will get back after being paying PPI on it since 1999 - 2011 on a balance often above £10k. Wish me luck. Also got to wait 10 weeks for MBNA to contact me. But only put my letter in to the FO at the end of April a very quick response from them. Good luck everyone else claiming out there. Shall keep you informed of how much i get.

    Hi help required.

On the 8/6/12 I wrote to RBS / Natwest with a SAR's request and enclosed a cheuqe for £10.00.

On the 26/6/12 and in the absence of any acknowledgement or response I wrote again chasing a response.

I gave RBS / Natwest until tomorrow to respond.

If they fail to respond what should I do:

    1. Give them more time
    2. Call them to ascertain what they are doing
    3. Complain to the ombudsman

I would be grateful for your advices

They have 40 days to respond, you are on day 18,you need to give them a while longer.
  • Hiya ,

After following some threads on here last week I phoned Santander.

Ive had PPI on mortgages from 1995.

I rang Santander who could find the policy from 2003 to 2010

The guy I spoke to has logged a complaint on the basis that both my wife and I were NHS employees and would have been entitled to Full sick pay, redundancy and death in service payments.

Also the fact that we were very much pressured into buying and it was inferred that no PPI no mortgage!

Does this seem a valid claim?

Ive tried to locate details of the PPI for the pereiod 1995 to 2003 but cannot find paperwork and santander only have records going back 6 years.

Anyone??? Cant seem to find much out re AN Paymentcare

You've done as much as you can. Without documentary evidence from you or the Bank, a complaint dating back seventeen years is dead in the water.
  • YEah not worried about the old claim ! at least theyve logged the 2003-2010 one - just hope it gets upheld

How can you tell from your bank loan agreement if you werepaying a single premium PPI? I took out a loan for £5,000 (for 5 years) and waspaying £140.00 (approx) a month for the loan and £49.50 per month for PPI.Therefore around £190.00 was coming out of my account for the two. I should begrateful if someone could kindly explain what this fronted/ single premium PPImeans, in simple terms would be much appreciated J . Thanks
    :)

Leave this with them, the FOS can take up to a year or more at the moment.

HFC have now replied saying they are unable to uphold the complaint. They go on to say they previously advised that PPI details for the account number were no longer available on the system, that they had asked for Bank Statements/HFC Statements showing all payments made to this account. It is very important that you provide proof of all payments and as they have not received the documentation requested, they have been unable to investigate any further. They go on to tell me about FOS.

So I'm now going to go on the site with the guide to PPIs to find out how I progress to FOS.

I had the agreement, a letter confirming an early settlement figure and a receipt of same amount stating account was clear and closed. I think this is sufficient proof of payment.

Any tips on my further journey along the PPI reclaim line?
