The original agreements are not enough as they only show PPi at the inception of your agreement; not if the PPI was subsequently cancelled.0 -
Haven't got bank statements just letters from Abbey National showing when and how much was paid off aswell as the credit agreements. These were consolidation loans and the last one was paid off in March 20050

Hi
Sorry if it sounds like i keep asking the same question but even tho i haven't got bank statements i have got the settlement letters. So could they not calculate this with the credit agreements to show that ppi was being paid untill the end of the loan ?0 -
Hi, I had an Egg loan taken out in about 2005 and paid off 2 years ago. Will the Bank still have records? PPI definitely paid as a front loaded premium, like others I was told by the salesman that my loan could not proceeed if I didnt accept.0

Hiya ,
After following some threads on here last week I phoned Santander.
Ive had PPI on mortgages from 1995.
I rang Santander who could find the policy from 2003 to 2010
The guy I spoke to has logged a complaint on the basis that both my wife and I were NHS employees and would have been entitled to Full sick pay, redundancy and death in service payments.
Also the fact that we were very much pressured into buying and it was inferred that no PPI no mortgage!
Does this seem a valid claim?
Ive tried to locate details of the PPI for the pereiod 1995 to 2003 but cannot find paperwork and santander only have records going back 6 years.0 -

There are numerous instances where lenders have upheld complaints, but have refused to payout on the basis that they no longer hold records older than six years.
I was just warning you that this is likely to be the case with your complaint and for you to look for (and send copies) of all documentation you can find.
Hopefully, what you have will be enough...0 -

Hello,
I had a reply from HSBC about my loan, saying that their records do not show PPI being on there. I don't have the paperwork but I'm almost certain I did have PPI on the loan. It was live within the last six years too, and their reply says any paperwork "might have been destroyed" if it's older than six years.
It seems a bit fishy to me, their letter is a bit vague about how I can get details and they're putting the onus on me to provide statements. It's as though they didn't even check...
My question is can they, in effect, 'lie' about whether or not they have my paperwork and whether or not I had PPI? Is this a delaying tactic and is it worth me sending them an SAR to get my records, which I know were live within the last six years?
Thank you for any advice.:)0 -

You can chance £10 sending for a Subject Access Request (SAR), but I'll be surprised if you discover the Bank is wrong (unless they have made an accidental mistake)
Template letter here, do bear in mind that you need to allow them 40 working days:
