Well Capital One are not playing ball at all. I first wrote to them on 8th May unfortunately I mistyped the card number so on 29th May I wrote them again giving the correct details. On 28th June, having heard nothing I phoned them and was told they hadn't recieved my letter but would arrange for my credit agreement and t&c to be sent out and I would have them in 7 to 10 days. On the very same day they sent me a letter to tell me that as the account is closed they have no obligation to provide me with the requested information.

    Hi All

I've only just sent my letter to Halifax to see if I am eligible to make a claim (Step 1) but I've not seen too many stories regarding Halifax claims or any successful ones (might've just missed them)

Does anyone have any successful stories regarding them?

If mine is successful, I'll definitely be posting on here to hopefully encourage more people to embark on this mission

Thanks to everyone at MSE for everything they do
  • Hi help required.

On the 8/6/12 I wrote to RBS / Natwest with a SAR's request and enclosed a cheuqe for £10.00.

On the 26/6/12 and in the absence of any acknowledgement or response I wrote again chasing a response.

I gave RBS / Natwest until tomorrow to respond.

If they fail to respond what should I do:

    1. Give them more time
    2. Call them to ascertain what they are doing
    3. Complain to the ombudsman

I would be grateful for your advices

    Hi everyone,

I had an initial offer from HSBC after my first letter to them. This offer only covered the period as far back as 2005 and they said they were not obliged to keep records further back than this. They stated that if I had Credit Card statements which went further back than this I should send them in so they could consider them. I had some statements which went back about another year so I sent copies in 6 weeks ago and have heard absolutely nothing. Just over a week ago I tried ringing the numbers on the letters - both of which told me I would be connected as soon as possible and then cut me off! I finally found a number here on the forum and got through to a real live human being. I checked with her that the copies of the statements had arrived and she confirmed they have had them since 16th May and offered to put a note on the file to say I had rung. How long to I leave this and what do I do next?

sent off letter 1 and got my terms n conditions (dated 2001), sent 2nd letter and got statements going back to 2009 [when they issued me a new card - with a different number to the previous one].

Why can't they join the dots and assume I want the statements for the previous incarnation of the card as well (and no I don't remember the card number)? or are they being deliberately unhelpful? is there a template letter that might cover this?

( as per my claim with mbna in which you replied on this forum with help approx 10/06/12 thanks!)
    You are welcome x.
was part populated ticked ppi boxes happening in 2003 ??? (hoping you may have an insight to this!!!)
I am not 100% sure, but I think they were.
is it enough for the lender to say that they advised we read the t & c's and therefore bat the blame back to us?
No it is not, send the complaint to FOS and show you did not need this PPI as you could pay the card should the worst happen, when you were redundant, did you claim on this PPI? if not, then it shows you did not know you had this, or thought it was something else.

    Hi Everyone

I am posting quickly from work, 2 of the offers I accepted from RBS

40.16 - Total offer of £71.46 with interest added on & 20% tax taken off

973.81 - Total offer of £1651.71 with interest added on & 20% tax deducted.

Today the RBS have paid the amounts into my account of £40.16 & £973.81, does anyonw know why have they not paid the full offer ? I don't want to touch this until I find out what is going on, has anyone else had this?

    Hi
Sorry if it sounds like i keep asking the same question but even tho i haven't got bank statements i have got the settlement letters. So could they not calculate this with the credit agreements to show that ppi was being paid untill the end of the loan ?
Put the complaint in and see what they come back with, you have nothing to lose and it will be a bonus if you get anything back.

Were these consolidate loans? if they were they have to take any rebate off that they gave when you settled, what are the full calculations?.
