sent off letter 1 and got my terms n conditions (dated 2001), sent 2nd letter and got statements going back to 2009 [when they issued me a new card - with a different number to the previous one].
Why can't they join the dots and assume I want the statements for the previous incarnation of the card as well (and no I don't remember the card number)?
Are they being deliberately unhelpful? is there a template letter that might cover this? How can I get the information re the card i held from 2001-2009?

Hi and welcome
There is an option of a Subject access request (SAR), and a tamplate letter for this below, this is the request where they send you all they data they still hold for a cost of £10 cheque or postal order, they have up to 40 calendar days to comply.
If you want to do this, the link to the SAR is here, good luck.

I had to do the SAR after waiting 6 months for them to send me my original agreement, me phoning up to ask where it was and why they kept sending me T&C's when I already had them, saying they'd send it again, repeat to fade.
If you can speak to the Data Protection team in the UK they are far more helpful than the offshore Barclaycard desk.
Do the SAR though, and you'll get everything.0 -
Yes, it was in response to the SAR that I only got the statements for 'this' card - and not the previous one (the number of which I do not know - but which surely must be on the same account)0
