I have 3 claims I can put in with HSBC.
When I called them up they were more than helpful in informing me on what accounts I had PPI (current and past) and also what the PPI ref numbers were. I have filled out 3 of those consumer questionnaires. Do I send them in one envelope or as three separate letters? Any help would be great.
PS anyone else had a claim HSBC? How good were they at getting back in touch? I am actually quite impressed so far as they even warned me about going with a company.CC 1 :- £5800/ £5,800 CC2:-[STRIKE] £4513 / £4513[/STRIKE] CC3: £4622.53/ £4622.53[/STRIKE] CC4:- £8971/ £8971[/STRIKE]Loan:- [STRIKE]£1785.63 / £1785.63[/STRIKE] 0

I have had a succesfull PPI claim for a Halifax loan
I completed the form and within 4 weeks had the offer and cheques not only for the loan I claimed for but 2 other loans we had with them in the past. I have nothing but good to say about them
Hi Sharon, that is very reassuring even if mine was for my Credit Card, it at least looks like they're taking it very seriously and addressing the matters that are presented to them
Well here's hoping (with a little more belief now)
I will let you know how it goes0 -
Thanks Amersall. So, I’ve had a look at my loan agreement and it appears that I have been paying interest on my PPI. So £197.80 came out each month for the loan and that was a breakdown of £49.61 (PPI) & £148.149 (loan). It says on my agreement that I was paying interest at 16.70% for the PPI. Does this mean I can complain? Is this classed as front loaded PPI? Really sorry for the daft questions, but I don’t understand it and I don’t want to go to a claims company when I can try myself J0

i then asked for them to look into my claim again... the first time i put the complaint to them they took just 3 weeks to come back with a no.
i called them today for an update as the 8 weeks is soon coming to and end and they have told me they are still looking into it....shall i wait for them to come back to me again or shall i go straight to FO?
Wait for them to get back to you, if it is a final response this time then send it to FOS.
When you need to send this to FOS show that you could have paid this card should the worst happen and that you had no need of this cover.0 -
Hi. When I took my mortgage out, I was told by the mortgage broker that his advice would cost us money. However, he would give us the advice for 'free' if we took out PPI through him (through Legal & General). I questioned the need at the time because both of us buyers work for the NHS & have done for 11 & 14 years.
He said that his fee would be quite high if we didn't. We have paid this for 5 years now (the length of our fixed-rate term) & a colleague recently told me they had successfully reclaimed theirs as NHS employees should require this level of cover. Can anyone advise on whether we stand a chance of reclaiming? If so, who do we claim from? Legal & General? The mortgage provider? The broker?
Many thanks for any help.
Hi,you need to post your question here

Put the claim in and use the Single Premium as a reason for mis sell, let them know that the full cost of this PPI and the unfair rebates were not explained fully to you at the point of sale.0 -

Response received from DFS last night, what are your thoughts people? Should I just let this one go?
We are writing further to your recent letter concerning the provision of payment protection insurance (PPI) and to provide our final response.
We are aware of the media coverage surrounding major banks and PPI and can reassure you that DFS offered optional PPI as part of a process designed to establish the eligibility of our customer in
terms of both applying and making a claim. Following this fact find we would make a recommendation and subsequently our customers chose whether to buy PPI or not.
At the end of the sales process you would have been handed your finance agreement with all the terms and conditions (including the full PPI policy) and a sales order. You would have been given time to check the paperwork and ask any questions before signing it to confirm that all of the
information was correct. You would then have been given copies to take home. This is not true, we were sitting on a sofa with the sales guy, he said the place that done the finance was closed at the weekend & he would be in touch
We take any enquiry of this nature very seriously and as part of our investigation we note that your order was placed on 10th March 2001 which was prior to FSA regulation of general insurance.
When considering all of the facts available at this time and taking into account the sales process as detailed above we are unable to accept your claim that PPI was mis-sold.
We feel that you were eligible for the policy and that sufficient information relating to PPI would have been given at the point of sale and in the documentation taken away.
Should you remain unhappy you can escalate your complaint to the Group Retail Controller, Andrew Tweedale, who can be contacted by writing to the address at the top of this letter. Furthermore if you still remain dissatisfied you can refer the matter to the Financial Ombudsman Service who may in
exceptional circumstances waive the time limit within which they can investigate a complaint. This must be done within 6 months.:TGratitude is the best Attitude :T
