PPI Reclaiming Discussion Part 5

Hi guys,
Recently received a letter from FSCS regarding a claim against Welcome Finance and it's PPI. I still pay towards the loan on a monthly basis but I have no idea if I can claim or not. I have no original loan documentation but I think the loan was activated in 2004 or 2005. I have been diagnosed with leukaemia since 2006 and my repayments were paid by the insurance company for between 14-18 months or so as I obviously had to finish my job. After the period above, the insurance company would not pay my repayments so I have paid the monthly fee since. (last insurance claim payment made was approx end 2007-begining 2008)
I still have intensive treatment for my illness and as a result spend much of my time in hospital meaning I still can't work. As I claimed on the Welcome Finance loan does this then mean I have no PPI Claim rights? I'm pretty sure I don't have grounds for a claim but since receiving the letter from Welcome and FSCS I thought I'd ask here for some advice and guidance. Any help would be really appreciated. Thank you0 -

If you win redress they will take off what you have already claimed, but the loan will be reset and the whole PPI amount will come off the balance and this should reduce the monthly payment by the PPI monthly amount.0 -
Does anyone know if Halifax are still meant to be auto-upholding for mortgage ppi claims?? Just wondering if I'll get rejected soon:(0

You can put a claim in for mis sell of this PPI, due to the year you need to put this into Welcome, this was a Single Premium PPI and is the most upheld of all PPI reclaims, this was a loan on the loan that you paid back to term end with interest, use this reason.

I see what your saying. Thank you very much for the advice and help, very kind of you.0 -
Hi everyone,
Back in 2006 I tried to reclaim PPI I was mis-sold on a loan from HFC/Beneficial Finance. Their solicitors were corresponding with me and eventually it went to court and a date was set for a hearing. I cannot remember what happened but I think something/someone scared me and I pulled out of the claim. The solicitors got me to sign an order to say I was discontinuing my claim and it was in full and final settlement of my claim.
I am really annoyed at myself because I think I could have won or if I was doing it now I would have stood a better chance of having my complaint upheld.
Is there anything I can do or have I put the nail in the coffin??
Thanks0 -

Hi
Anxiety got in the way I expect.
You could give it a go, and since the FSA etc are urging peeps who have reasons to believe they have been mis sold to make a reclaim, there is no harm in having a go yourself.
Complete the reclaim questionnaire and send, keep copies for yourself as well, good luck.

Hi there
You have every right to make a reclaim complaint with your reasons you believe you were mis sold on, just like loan ppi.
I have not had any dealings with these myself, but wishing you luck on your reclaiming.:)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

I had two letters back from them on 5th April, stating as i suspected that the two loans I was unsure about, did not have PPI.
There was no mention about the third loan, so I presumed this was being dealt with separately.
I rang them about 10 days ago as i had not heard anymore about it. I was told that my file had been sent to Archive, and that they didnt know what was happening about the 3rd loan, as there were no notes on the system, and that they would request it be brought back from archive so they could look. I was told this would take a few days, and to call them again. I rang again yesterday, and lo and behold there was no request in place to get the file back from Archive lodged when I rang 10 days ago!
So now they are now sending a request for it again.
From my initial letter of 6th March (which i was told they received on 9th) they have now had 9 weeks, to get absolutely nowhere!!!!
How much longer should I give them to reply??
Bump.
any one have any advice on the above?0
