Hi All
Myself and my partner went through an IVA which was set up in 2004. We then re-mortgaged our property and put forward a full and final settlement which was accepted and paid off in late 2006. Since the scandal of PPI has come to my attention, I got in touch with my Insolvency Practitioner who has supplied me with account details and numbers of our loans/credit cards which were settled which was very handy! I have however no longer got any paperwork for any of these previous debts as I was glad to get rid of it all! I have therefore written to the companies involved quoting the account numbers and enclosed a postal order for £1 for each of the accounts. I am hoping that this paperwork will show some element of PPI on it as I am not sure if we did take any of this out but hopefully it will jog my memory once we have got the agreements back. I posted these by recorded delivery on 4th May so await their response! I have also sent a letter to Southern Pacific (now Acenden I believe?) as regards a secured loan we paid back after selling the house in 2007. I will keep you updated of any progress (or ask for any advice if the time comes!)0 -
Hi, not sure if I'm in the correct place (if not can you please point me in the right direction), I'm on week 7 of my claim for mis-sold mortgage ppi, am I within my rights to cancel the payments or will it affect the outcome of my claim? This is with the Halifax.

I'm pre-supposing that it my case it's a long shot without much reward but from what I gather it's worth a try. I just want to double check before I waste my time...
I was mis-sold PPI on a graduate loan from Barclays in 2003 but only a year later I ended up claiming on it due to a dispute with my employer that ended with me leaving the company and being signed off work for several months. I didn't get anywhere near what I'd hoped from the claim and then I ended up defaulting shortly after that. The agreement was terminated and I was forced to take a resolve loan with a punitive rate of 15.9% apr.
In effect, I only paid PPI of £20 / month for twelve months so a total of £240. The claim paid out £430 to cover 82 days. In these circumstances is it even worth reclaiming?
Thanks in advance.0 -

I'm not sure were I stand with this one.
I was missold PPI when taking out a first plus loan (through HFS Loans). At the time of the loan application I was told that I wasn't able to get the loan without taking out the PPI..I remember discussing it with my now wife back then in 2002.
I first sent my complaint, including the details why I was complaining, to first plus who then forwarded it to Capital One.
I received an acknowledgement from both first plus, stating they had forwarded it to Capital One and also Capital One who stated they had received my complaint.
I then waited for the outcome.
Today I received a letter from Capital One stating that first plus didn't provide them with the details of why I was complaining!! And therefore their own investigation proved that I wasn't missold PPI.
I'm a little preturbed about this as I was at least expecting my complaint to be forwarded fully and be dealt with accordingly but now it seems the first pus have scuppered my claim for a refund by not correctly forwarding my competed questionnaire form.
So where do I go now? FOS or do I send Capital One my original complaint....All advice welcome.
BTW FP Loan was for £30,000 with PPI of £7,347.
This was settled in late 2010.
What a load of old tosh  how can they say this was not mis sold without your reasons for mis sell, FP will have sent your complaint in full over to them, this was mis sold, put the complaint back into CO, did you use the letter I posted on here with the reasons for mis sell?, put in this complaint about how they should not have looked at this complaint without getting the reasons and blaming FP!! , keep a copy of this to send to the FOS if they do not come back with UPHELD0 -

What is the next step after not receiving any sort of reply from HFC bank 8 weeks after sending my PPI form to them. It was sent recorded and was received.
Do I need to ring them or do I go straight on the FOS?
Many Thanks as always
Contact them they should have at least acknowledged the claim by now.0
