PPI Reclaiming Discussion Part 5

Made a claim to Barclays on 5 different loans over the past decade or so. Last one was in 2007 for £23,100 that had a further £6 1/2 K slapped on it as PPI and this one is still running and got another 2 years on it. should I call them to try and cancel the PPI and will the fact that I haven't cancelled affect my claim?
Also, I have 2 Barclaycards, how do I go about finding out if any PPI is attached to them?
Thanks
I've just checked my bank account
£6,391.24 paid in today, in 4 installments for PPI refunds.
No offer letters. No acceptance letters sent.
I queried 5 loans so perhaps more to come? I know the last loan PPI with added interest came to about £9K and that looks untouched so I await an outcome on that ...
But right now ... Cheers :beer:0 -
:DYou are very welcome

Put the dates, amounts and year of each PPI amount, it will keep a total for you of the 8%, as the loan is closed you will get all the total PPI back less the rebates you got, this calculation is purely for the 8% amount.
Hi amersall, thought I'd update you and the rest of the lovely folks on MSE. I made a call to the Lloyds TSB PPI Complaints line today just to check on progress, and I was told that all complaints for the chain of loans I had have been upheld:j:j:j:j:j
An extra surprise was that a 5th loan in the chain, although it didn't have PPI attached to it, had some PPI that was rolled over from the 4th, so they had to take that into consideration when calculating the redress:T:T
So a total of £5,360 is on it's way to me, and my partner's single premium PPI complaint has also been upheld with a redress of £992:j
and last but not least, I helped my father too and his single premium PPI complaint has been upheld, with £3,979 coming back!!!!!:T:rotfl::T:beer:
So between myself, partner and dad that's £10,600
Letter's are on the way (just over 6 weeks from initial complaint being logged), now just have to wait for the payments:D
Will go a long way to helping us all out I can tell you!!
Thank you ALL again for the help & advice, and to Martin & MSE:money:0 -

Hey'up,
I'm pre-supposing that it my case it's a long shot without much reward but from what I gather it's worth a try. I just want to double check before I waste my time...
I was mis-sold PPI on a graduate loan from Barclays in 2003 but only a year later I ended up claiming on it due to a dispute with my employer that ended with me leaving the company and being signed off work for several months. I didn't get anywhere near what I'd hoped from the claim and then I ended up defaulting shortly after that. The agreement was terminated and I was forced to take a resolve loan with a punitive rate of 15.9% apr.
In effect, I only paid PPI of £20 / month for twelve months so a total of £240. The claim paid out £430 to cover 82 days. In these circumstances is it even worth reclaiming?
Thanks in advance.0 -
Hi Guys
I'm not sure were I stand with this one.
I was missold PPI when taking out a first plus loan (through HFS Loans). At the time of the loan application I was told that I wasn't able to get the loan without taking out the PPI..I remember discussing it with my now wife back then in 2002.
I first sent my complaint, including the details why I was complaining, to first plus who then forwarded it to Capital One.
I received an acknowledgement from both first plus, stating they had forwarded it to Capital One and also Capital One who stated they had received my complaint.
I then waited for the outcome.
Today I received a letter from Capital One stating that first plus didn't provide them with the details of why I was complaining!! And therefore their own investigation proved that I wasn't missold PPI.
I'm a little preturbed about this as I was at least expecting my complaint to be forwarded fully and be dealt with accordingly but now it seems the first pus have scuppered my claim for a refund by not correctly forwarding my competed questionnaire form.
So where do I go now? FOS or do I send Capital One my original complaint....All advice welcome.
BTW FP Loan was for £30,000 with PPI of £7,347.
This was settled in late 2010.0 -
Hi All,
Well today I came in to a letter on the mat and got excited to see what mr postie had brought me. Well it was an acknowledgement letter from Capital One who I sent my complaint to on 13th April. Its took almost a month for them to reply. Not holding out any hope with getting a response in a timely manner - thought I'd let you guys know in case anyone was thinking about complaining to them.
Still no word from any of my other complaints... fingers crossed......

Hi monsieur i would'nt say you would get anything back because the amount you would win would be taken off what you'd claimed and you've claimed more than you've paid in.0 -
