Hi put in a claim against CT Capital used to be Southern Pacific Personal Loans and got knocked back letter today ! Loan dated 2003 till 2008,They have stated that as loan took place more than 6 years ago in an environment which was not regulated by FSA .What can I do ,and are they right or calling my Bluff .Rob
    Give FOS a call
    http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/contact/index.html
Explain about the year you took this loan out and ask is there a chance that you could make a claim against the Insurer.
  • Thanks for advice, Rob
  • Just a quick note to tell you that I was successful with a claim through Natwest directly - i called their PPI claim number and went through questions over the phone - 3 weeks later I recieved an offer for £330 (I cant remember the exact amount but its around that figure) I accepted that offer as it was about £180 more then I was expecting with my own rough calcuations. Just waiting for the cheque now. I didnt fill out any paperwork, and as its my only ppi ive ever had im happy to say this will all be behind me!
  • Has anyone had any success in claiming back ppi on homebase card or a Very catalogue account. I have tried and they have refused my claim. I have paid hundreds if not thousands of pounds to these two companies thinking it was for insurance on products I purchased and only found out recently it was actually PPI. Both companies have also said they were not regulated at the time of selling. Can I proceed with these claims to the ombudsman in this case?

am new to internet so apologies if am in wrong thread.
Has anyone had sucess with getting ppi back from Lombard.
I tried calling them and they were not helpful.
i have had an unsecured loan for the last six years
and have one year left. From last years statement it says that up to then ( may 2011) i had paid nearly £8,000 in interst ppi. The loan was for £20,00 and i have calculated by the time the loan ends in May 2013 i would have paid back just over £35,000.
I have only recently discovered that a private pension i have with work, ( since 1996) covers me for illness, critical illness being made reduntant etc; I was never asked when i took out the loan if i already had some kind of insurance. I have seen on another website that dealing with Lombard is not easy.
Any advise with how long i could expect to be dealing with them would be appreciated.:(:(:(

As they were not regulated then the FOS cannot help you, contact the FLA and ask if they can help.

Hi, forget what my last answer to you was :D
This PPI is Single Premium PPI and is the most upheld of all PPI reclaims, the PPI was like a loan on the loan that you paid to term end with interest, this is why it is costing you a lot, use this as the reason for mis sell and put the claim in.

Downloaded the form from this website to claim back PPI from a loan which I had. Had a response within 4 weeks to say yes they will refund me £4,700, this also included a loan which finished in 2006!!!!

    Well done
I love to see all the quick winners - just taking a few weeks to sort Excellent
