Well its week 7 of my HSBC complaint... Hopefully I'll hear something soon! I have received acknowledgement from Direct Auto Finance of my complaint with a request to fill in a PPI questionnaire. Hopefully they'll come back with a positive response... :) Hope everyone has a lovely day!

    Hi All

Made a claim to Barclays on 5 different loans over the past decade or so. Last one was in 2007 for £23,100 that had a further £6 1/2 K slapped on it as PPI and this one is still running and got another 2 years on it. should I call them to try and cancel the PPI and will the fact that I haven't cancelled affect my claim?

Also, I have 2 Barclaycards, how do I go about finding out if any PPI is attached to them?

    Thanks

hi all, Does anyone know if AA have been taken over by Halifax, and what are the success rate for AA. Many thamks
also is AA credit care the same as PPI ?

Credit care is PPI, if this is a loan then you need to send the complaint into AA, they sold the PPI to you and BOS gave you the money, if it was a CC then I think they did the cards through MBNA,if anyone knows any different then I am sure they will post up for you.

Mushisushi, I don't think the fact you haven't cancelled will affect your claim. I spoke to Barclays about my OD protection and they will cancel it when I sign the acceptance letter.

If it's been 8 weeks I'd give them a ring. Barclays have always been helpful and when I spoke to them on Friday it appears they are sticking to timescales. Barclaycard is another matter altogether. I sent a questionnaire to them delivered on the 4th April and I've not heard anything back yet.

Do not cancel the PPI on a loan, this will get the loan reset without PPI, you will get a rebate of PPI and the remaining is still on the loan to term end, the Apr and term could increase too.
Not cancelling will not affect your claim, a loan is not the same as a CC as you can cancel CC PPI any time with no penalty.

If you win mis sell with the loan that is still running, they will take the whole PPI amount off the balance of the loan, you get the PPI back that you have paid to date and 8%.

With the CC the PPI is shown on every monthly payment.

Give them another week, if you have heard nothing by then give them a ring and ask for an update.

Hi Amersall thanks for the reply. We only make the one pmt of 113.00 which is the loan plus ppi. Also when I rang up initially enquiring about the ppi they said that the ppi balance was at zero which struck me as odd. Does that mean it was paid up first?
Hi All at last had a reply from Tesco re PPI on our loan. They have found that we were given insufficient information about the PPI when it was added to loan. They have made an offer of 1391.77 which is a return of all the insurance premiums that have been paid, this includes 205.63 which is the 8% interest. They will reduce the monthly premium which is what it would have been without the PPI. The figure of 11186.14 is correct but I am not sure if this is all they should be doing. Any advice please as I have to sign and send back confirmation of acceptance. Thanks in advance.

    Hi all,
I hope I can get some help in understanding my current situation.
My wife and I have had many loans from Lloydstsb over the last 10yrs as these have always been our bank.
I called them yesterday to discuss the loans and they told me I had 4 loans in my name in the past with PPI and 2 loans in joint names with my wife with PPI.
They took lots of details from me with a very nice lady and asked why I thought I had been sold it incorrectly and I advised her we have always been told it will help the decision with the loan and also that we needed it incase we were sick at work etc. I told the lady my wife and I are both paid 6mths full pay and 6mths half pay in our jobs with local government.
She told me I will get a letter in a few days for confirmation of complaint and then it will take them 8 weeks for a decision.

Does this sound anything that they may pay out on?

Also I have just checked a couple of my mortgage agreements that are also with Lloydstsb and the say I have taken out payment protection plus. Is this the same as PPI? Thanks in advance. Tich

    Hi all,
I'm just a bit confused as i rang lloyds tsb directly yesterday.
I took out a mortgage in 2005 with their advisor in branch,& i do remember her telling me that i had to have protection insurance.
She added the insurance on to the mortgage & i pay a seperate anount of £54.23 per month for this.
I also clearly remember that she did not tell me i could buy the cover elsewhere.
When i rang yesterday, after been on hold with lloyds for quite a few minutes while they checked the mortgage details,i was then asked the reason why i wanted to complain.
I replied that i hadn't been told by the branch advisor that i could purchase the insurance elewhere.
Her reply was simply that they would contact me within 10 working days...that was it.
After i put the phone down i have now started worrying because it was just such a short conversation,no other questions at all...what do you think..?,do i have a valid claim.?
    Thanks.
