If Paragon or any other finance company does stop trading or go bust or other, what happens to my or any other member of public DD payments ? Where are the payments going ?
Should I cease making my DD payments?0 -
Hi There
Can anyone help please? I've just started the reclaiming PPI process using the template letters on MSE website. Sent off first template letter asking for t&cs to Barclaycard, Capital one and Blackhorse. Blackhorse seems straightforward the docs contain obvious refs to PPI so will send checklist next to them. I'm a little confused about Barclaycard & Capital One.
In the Barclaycard docs I cannot find any refs to PPI, they have sent both the credit agreement & t&cs yet my OH says he's seen it on his statements?
The Capital One letter simply states that the account defaulted & they have recorded a partially settled default on the credit file so they have no obligation to provide a copy of the docs requested. Is this right, if so where do I go from here?
Thanks

HOWEVER, where monies are still outstanding (as is the case with your defaulted Capital One account) the Bank is entitled to retain any redress you might win.0 -
Hi just signed up to this forum.
I have 2 credit cards and a loan which I was more than likely misold PPI between 2003 - 2006.
All accounts are closed and I no longer have any details on them at all, what do you experts think the chances are of me getting anything back if I get in touch with the companies?
Would it be quicker to phone them?
Thanks

I have just started doing a PPI claim through a company and obviously they need the loan details. However, I have moved house and couldn't find them so wrote to the 2 lending companies involved for them to send me the details.
What I'm wondering is:
1) Do they have to supply me with the details?
2) Is there a time limit in which they have to reply with the details?
I can't get on with the claim until I have these details. Any further suggestions would be gratefully accepted :j0 -

Sinfullou, you need to dispense with the Claims Management Company if it's still possible:(0 -
Hi I took out a £10k loan online with Egg in 2003 the loan was paid up in 2008. In 2009 I wrote to Egg to complain about being missold the PPI on it(used template letter from this website). I got a reply several days later and they stated:
"after carrying out a review of your account our records indicated that you purchased your insurance through the Egg website on 20 April 2003. We do not provide an advisory service, as part of our online sales process. However, prior to submitting your online application, you were asked to read the terms and conditions governing this policy and you were required that you were required to specifically confirm that you agreed to them. In addition a paper copy of these terms and conditions were sent to your account address prior to the purchase of the policy being completed. Our records are therefore unable to highlight whether you provided incorrect information..
Upon receiving this letter I was dispondant and filed it away believing I had failed and didnt persue it through the FSO. Can I try again with Egg or have i blown my chances? I cant be sure whether the insurance was already ticked on the applcation and I was supposed to unclick.
Can someone please advise me.0 -

You are having to get the info to start the claim, so why pay a fee plus vat to a claims co when you can do what they will do for free?.
You need to get rid of the claims co and put the claims in yourself.
Do a Sar as Moneyineptitude advised and send a letter to the claims co to tell them you are no longer requiring their services and make sure you get an answer in writing back to say they have closed your claim, did you pay any money upfront to this company?.
If you do decide to do this yourself When you get the info back and decide to make the claims for mis sell, then let the bank know that you have not instructed a claims co to do this on your behalf.
When you do the Sar ask for all information they hold on you, enclose £10 for each bank.
It is possible the banks will give you the info, but if the accounts are closed they do not have to provide this info but a Sar they have to comply with.0 -
Hi can somebody please help me I took out a morgage in 1997with Bradford and bingley. I paid the morgage off in 2006. Firstly can I claim ppi from them because of the dates I had the morgage.
And secondly can somebody please give me details of who I write to because bradford and bingly are closed now and plus I went through a broker who I can't remember name of. Does the fact that paid the morgage off early make a difference?
So can you claim ppi on morgages? Sorry for sounding like a thicko....0
