If you had PPI, have the account numbers and reasons for mis sell then just do the claim, put the old address the loans were taken out at and your present address for them to contact you at.
Can you remember if the PPI on these loans was paid in with the loan monthly payment? if it was then Single Premium is a good reason for mis sell this is the PPI on the loan with interest to loan end date.
If you do a Sar, on a joint loan you only need one £10 fee.
Sar letter sent today lets see who said whot and who ticked witch box Blackhorse my boxing gloves are laced up and I am ready for the fight0 -
Hi Everyone
I have just received my SAR from Capital One and can clearly see that I selected 'No PPI' although there is a second box saying '2nd PPI - not selected'.
I dont know know if I have been paying PPI or not, does anyone know how I find this out from the SAR?
Thanks0 -
It is the Reference/credit agreement number that you give with the reasons for mis sell.
A company will only get the loan details from you and post them to the bank, for this they will charge a % plus VAT.
Did you pay the PPI as one monthly payment in with the loan?, if you did then this is Single Premium PPI and is the most upheld of all PPI reclaims, this PPI was put on at the start of the loan and you pay this over the term with interest, use this as a reason for mis sell if this was how you paid the PPI.
You can do this over the phone
Call 08457 24 24 24
Or put the complaint in writing to the Manager at a local branch of RBS
How easy is that? and all it cost you was the price of a stamp.
thanks for all your help
this im not sure what you mean by single payment ? i payed 1656 over 60 months for the ppi
thanks again bg0 -
Hi There,
Can anyone advise.
I wrote to CitiBank as it was in 2008 to complain of miss selling and got a reply saying everthing was above board and we agreed blah blah blah. The letter ended with them suggesting I could contact FOS which i did not as I was not as clued up as I am now. The following week we paid off the loan.
I have since found paperwork for loan and it looks like I may have been miss sold under the disability section.
I was diagnosed in 2004 with angina/ ischaemic heart disease and have arthritis and had made a claim on insurance(Metlife) we had on a loan taken out with them for a car. I had taken out a consolidation loan in 2006 and needless to say PPI was given but my
previous history was glossed over and told it was in our best interest to take new PPI.
my question is can I revisit this with Citifinancial or has my chance gone.0 -
Is there any other way to find out if he had PPI other than the t&cs?

Remember, any redress paid against a defaulted loan is likely to be retained by the Bank. Is a £10 Fee for this worth it?0 -
Hello,
After sending two SARs to HSBC (one for a loan and one for a cc), their debt recovery department (Metropolitan) wrote to me saying that they "were not in a position to provide the requested information" and they "hope this clarifies matters." After defaulting on my debts with HSBC, they passed the debt to Metro and I am now paying Metro through the use of a debt management plan.
I thought it was a legal obligation on them to provide me with the data I had asked for? I included a cheque, which notably wasn't returned!
Should I write to them again and insist they send me the paperwork? I'm fairly sure I had PPI on the loan and CC but without the paperwork I can't be certain. Or should I just hedge my bets and write to them putting a claim in anyway?
Thanks for any advice.0 -

Hi Mirry
I think you could find that information from your credit report, although I could be wrong - someone once told me that things only stay on your file for six years but I don't know if that's true. Worth a try anyway. Use the free trial from someone like Equifax to get a copy of your report and go back through it to see if the loan is on there.
Remember to cancel the trial after you've downloaded your report or you'll end up paying a monthly subscription charge.
Hope this helps

It is a legal requirement under the data protection act 1998.0
