    Hi

The mortgage agreement if you still have this will enclose details of any PPI, or you could try contacting the lender directly who should confirm.;)

Yhanks Dizzy can't seem to see anything on any paperwork but don't think I have the original afreement so will try to ring them some time!

    Your welcome

If they do not disclose details directly to you, another way is to write to request for a copy of the mortgage agreement, enclose £1 cheque or postal order, ask they provide this by 12 days.
If you do not have the account number, give them as many details as you can in order for them to track it down.

    Good luck.

Grrrrrr, i'm now starting to get a little bit annoyed with Santander!!
I originally sent back my acceptance letter along with copy of marriage certificate on 12th March, they told me it would be 10 working days until i received the cheque. I hadn't heard anything so I phoned to check they had received it on 30th March. They told me they hadn't received it and in any case they also needed a recent utility bill to prove my change of address. They sent me a new acceptance form and i returned it with my marriage certificate and a utility bill by recorded delivery on 30th March. Checked post office track and trace and it was delivered on 2nd April.
Still hadn't heard anything so i phoned them on 16th April, they are still saying they hadn't received it (i told them it had def been delivered but they gave me a story that it hadn't got onto their system yet, after 2 weeks i find that hard to believe!!!)
They sent me another acceptance form in the post to sign and return and told me to fax it to them (they can't email it as apparently its not as secure as faxing!) That arrived yesterday so i signed it and faxed it to them this morning along with my marriage certificate and utility bill.
I have just phoned them and they are now saying they haven't received it onto their system and that it could take up to 3 days for them to pick the fax up and update their system in order to get my refund cheque sent to me..........This has now been going on for over a month, posted twice and faxed once, I think i might explode!!!!!
    Rant over...sorry about that!

If you've not done so yet, try to find the details of the CEO and contact him/her, you could though as well ask your local MP to write on your behalf, they should be willing to help if they want your vote.;)

    Keep at them, good luck.

I posted the FOS questionnaire to Barclaycard on 3rd April, it was signed for on the 4th and I've had no acknowledgement so I thought I'd chase them up today. It's not on their system yet because it takes "10 days to scan" on, but if I phone up next week it "definitely will be", that's if "we don't send a letter next Monday or Tuesday".

"Mary" from customer services didn't seem to know what day it was....

Hi, I am after a bit of advice.

I have just received a letter from Lloyds stating that they are not upholding my CC PPI complaint.:(

My main reason for the complaint was that I was out of work due to sickness when the policy was taken out and so would never have been covered.
I was also not aware that I even had PPI (it is on the statements but I was young and naive and didn't notice).

Lloyds state that I took out the PPI over the phone so I must have spoken to someone (although I don't remember).

They go on to say "I am of the opinion that where it was practical the features of the policy were discussed at the point of sale. having considered all the available evidence including the policy booklet, I have come to the conclusion that the features of the policy were adequately presented to you."

I don't understand how they can state this as my work status must have been applicable to the application, and as it was done on the phone it was an advised sale.

Surely this is clear mis-selling, or am I missing something?

Do I pursue this with LLoyds or just go straight to the FOS?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello good people.
We have two loans from Paragon Finance. They have been serviced by us without fail and without incident for years - no problem.
However we decided to submit a claim for the PPI associated with these two loans using a TV advertised company "ppiadviceline", a part of "Money Made Simple (UK) Ltd" I believe.
We were told it may take many weeks for a conclusion to come through, but 3 months passed so we phoned for an update.
That was yesterday, and we were told that the matter(s) had been passed to the FSA (or some similar body?) because Paragon have either 'defaulted' or ceased trading, and therefore "ppiadviceline" couldn't get any result from them directly.
During the telcon I did ask about my DD payments to service these two loans to Paragon, and asked how much longer this business would take to reach a conclusion one way or another, but the chap on the line simply had no answers. He said a few times "we dont know" about anything I was asking.
So my questions here for the experts are these....
    1. What does 'defaulted' mean ? Is it in fact another name for "ceased trading"?
    2. Do you know if Paragon have actually ceased trading ?
    3. If Paragon or any other finance company does stop trading or go bust or other, what happens to my or any other member of public DD payments ? Where are the payments going ?
    4. Should I cease making my DD payments?
    5. FSA (or similar) - Have they powers to distribute funds back to end clients ?
I realise that reclaiming PPI is a seperate issue completely to the matter of servicing a loan via DD payments, but having discovered the Paragon may be in some difficulty, if true, then clearly the claiming of PPI is a little more insignificant to that of my payments for the loans themselves, and thus we are worried what ground we are on here.
Thanks many for any considerations / replies.

Hi Dan this is a very clear case of miselling, if you took the policy out when you were out of work you could'nt claim on the employment side of the ppi so in effect it was worthless, fos this.

Hi everyone, quick question... I've put a complaint in to Barclaycard. Received a letter saying they'll look into it and to fill out the FOS questionnaire which I've done. This week I have had that same letter another 4 times... Is anyone else experiencing this due to them not knowing their right arm from their left or are they just playing silly !!!!!!s?
    Cheers!

What year were these loans taken out? if they were on or after 14th Jan 05 then the FSCS will compensate you, if it was before this time then they cannot and you may need to find out who the insurer was and this can take a very long time to chase and there may not be a good result at the end of it.

Just to let you know as the loans are still running, if you win redress, and the FSCS only compensate 90% of the PPI then the claims co will take the fee based on the whole amount of the PPI and not just what redress you are given.
To answer your other questions, you still continue to pay the loan as you owe the debt, If Paragon have ceased trading , I can only assume they have from the letter you received) you still owe the debt that you signed for, I do not know where your monthly payment goes to be honest, but if you do not pay this will go down as default on the agreement and whoever is overseeing the assets of Paragon will take action to get the debt repaid, I could be wrong this about the payments but I am sure if anyone knows what does happen to the payments then I am sure they will post.

The FSCS are a compensation body that pays compensation for PPI mis sell ( and other business dealings too) to customers when a company defaults.

Take a look at the website and this will help you more, but if your loans were before the date I gave above, then you will not be compensated.
