I'm going to phone the companies first to see if I can get any info from them, would I just say I believe I may have been miss sold PPI and I want to enquire if they still have my details on record?
This will depend on the year the PPI was sold to you, if it has been archived you need to do the Sar.

You will need to Sar Welcome too or ring and ask if they have any details, as above, it depends if the info has been archived, if your loan was before Jan 14th 2005 then you will have trouble with this, get the loan details first and take it from there.

Hi, I am trying to work out if an offer of compensation for the mis-selling of ppi is correct

    The details :-
endowment mortgage of 36500 taken out in 1989
ppi added without me knowing until I found out 8 years later

I cancelled it when i found out as it was not or would ever be suitable for my circumstances

lender has made an offer (used the forms on here, many thanks)

What would be a fair offer of compensation

    thanks in advance
    Mark
I assume it would depend if the Endowment paid out, I am not sure how this would work, but I know someone who will :D
If magpiecottage sees this post, I am sure you will get a response.

Hi, has anyone made a claim about missold ppi for right to buy mortgage from Regency?
My parents are trying to claim from them but have contacted a number of companies who now deal with the ppi and mortgages for regency but they have so far all responded saying they dont deal with it. I know regency are now dissolved so there is no direct contact for them, has anyone got any ideas how to progress this?

  • Hi,

I am following the steps on how to reclaim the ppi - and could do with a little bit of advise. I have 9 loans following on from each other from 1998 - 2004 that i dont have the paperwork for anymore but i rang my bank and the gave me all the account numbers and dates of when the loans were paid off and am currently typing the letter out to my bank asking for copies of the paperwork and wondered if i have to do a seperate letter for each loan or if i could do one letter stating all the loan numbers??

Your help would be much appreciated.

Is this a Credit card/ if it is then the PPI may not show on the agreement as it could have been added later, PPI on a credit card show every month on your statement, did they not send you any?.

Capital One have sent me a list of transactions, but its like a statement summary, not like the original statements I would have got at the time. No where on it does it mention any interest or PPI, just gives my transactions and balances.

Should they have sent me full statements?

Apparently it depends what you asked for... I've seen a few posts saying to make sure that you ask for a copy of everything to do with your account... Hope someone more useful can post soon and help you out :);)

You need to Sar these, enclose £10 and ask for all info they hold on you, put account numbers if you want to then they have more chance of finding you.due to the years the bank may have archived this info and if you do not Sar and just request one item then you will wait for them to send you a letter stating that as the accounts are closed they do not have to provide you with paperwork.

Hi caroline welcome to mse, you will very likely have to put 9 ombudsman ppi questionairres in, most lenders want one for every account now, just fill in the forms including your reasons for claiming you have the important info namely the account numbers, you could call your lender and ask if they would mind you putting the complaints all in one form but i think they'd want one for each account, good luck.

Some have received some statements, on the paperwork you have does it look like there should be more transactions on there or does it look like all transactions follow on?, is it possible you did not have PPI?.
You could ring and ask if they have any statements for this account and see what they say.
