I have always taken PPI on any loands/credit cards i have ever had, Also does it show on your credit file if you have tried to claim?
Do you mean tried to claim on the insurance or complain about the insurance?
In either case, only the lender (and the insurer, if you claimed) would keep records of this.

Wait for your letter and stop obsessing about it!:D
If the guy on the telephone claimed not to know what the term meant, why do you expect us to?
Like Cappo, I can take an educated guess and assume that "calculations" are for the amount of redress you will receive. But I can't guarantee I'm correct.;)

    Hi everyone,

Has anyone emailed a PPI claim to Capital One?

I tries twice but they havent acknowledged it! Just wondering if I should post it now and if they have actually received my email but are not very good at responding? I dont want to think I have wasted a couple of weeks waiting for them to reply to my email!!

    Thanks
hi i wrote to them by post and had a letter a week later to aknowledge my complaintxhope this helps think you are better off writing as you can keep proof of letters youve sentxgood luckx

You can also track letters with the Post Office to ensure they've been received.

    Hi all,

    After some advice please.

I took out a loan with HSBC many moons ago, probably about 2003, it was a Flexiloan that I had all but paid back when they said, 'You do realise you can keep using the money like an overdraft don't you!?' Oh really, great :j Or so I thought at the time

Fast forward to where I've maxed out that loan, again, then lost my job, got depressed and gone back to HSBC to up my overdraft to pay my rent. 'Oh no don't do that, consolidate your loan and overdraft into.... blah blah blah.......!' they said. So I did, foolishly and then when it came to a time when I couldn't pay one month, they threatened baliffs etc and basically forced my partner to take out another consolidated loan to cover my one/two.:mad::mad:

So (finally, sorry get rather irate when thinking about it all!) my question is, I cannot find the loan agreements for my loans, however, I have both the account numbers and the PPI ref number's off of a statement. Will this information be enough or will I have to contact them with these reference numbers to get some terms sent out?

    Thanks

Amersall, thanks very much indeed for your very helpful reply. MBNA seem to have sold their loans to Moorgate, who now administer them under the same terms and conditions. This being the case, MBNA would be unable (I think) to reduce the loan payments by the PPI amount. Would I not just get the whole sum?

Also, I don't believe MBNA issued a rebate at the time I consolidated the first loan. Certainly,no rebate was mentioned.

When you consolidated they will have given you a rebate for the PPI, this would have been on the paperwork for the "new" loan.

Give MBNA a ring and ask if the total PPI will be taken off the loan as I am sure they will have to as the loan has several months to go, if they do not reset the loan, then they are not putting you back into the position you would have been had the PPI not been on there, MBNA are the best to answer this query as they are giving the redress.

Some have won misolds on online applications but it is very much harder to prove as the lender will say that you had all your t&c's online etc but it is not impossible to win a claim

You are right steve, people have won from online applications and I would tell people not to think that because it was done online, then you have no claim, you do not know until you make the claim.
