I recently sent off the questionnaire to MBNA but was an idiot and forgot to send it Recorded Delivery. Does anyone know if MBNA send any acknowledgement for received appeals questionnaires and if so, roughly how long did it take? I'm just wondering how long I should wait before calling (or if it will even show up on the call centres system) or resending?
Thanks (Burtons Santander sent today - DEFINITELY recorded!)
Give them a fortnight katie before you chase them, i'm sure they received it.0 -
Hi All,
I am new to this forums, thanks for all your very useful information posted.
In 2002 I wanted to move my mortgage from one lender to another and in the process I was adviced by Abbey or Alliance & Leicester
person (I don't remember) that it will be cheaper for me if I will use their mortgage protection plan even if the mortgage was/will be with another lender.
He/she (I dont remember) gave me the online link to apply. At the time I was employed as a telecom Engineer and our company was going through a number of redundancies between 2001 and 2005. I told them that our company was going through a number of redundancies and he/she told me that won't matter because I already had a mortgage and also now I will have a mortgage protection cover which I can use to obtain a good deal from different lenders when re-mortgaging..
He/she gave me an online link which I used to apply for this cover. I don't remember much of what we discussed but I applied for the cover online and I think they sent me papers to sign later.
Initially I had only uneployment cover; I later, I think after two years added sickness cover and life cover. At the time my employer was also providing these two covers.
in 2005 I was made redundant and I immediatelly got another job which I have till now.
I still have this cover although now I know that I if I had tried to claim, most likely they would have refused my claim. I think i was mis-sold this insurance.
What is the chance of being sucessful in my claim? What reasons can I use to make my case strong?
Is by buying online going to be a factor against my claim?
Thanks.

Hi - i would be grateful for an advice here. When i bought my first flat 8 years ago i went through the mortgage broker Charcol. I took out a Cheltenham and Gloucester mortgage and the Charcol broker told me i needed PPI - it was compulsory and i needed it to get the mortgage. This was verbal and i have never taken PPI since with a mortgage as i realised this is not true. Since it was Charcol and not C&G who sold me this - would i have grounds for a claim? Thanks in advance0

As Mark said it's a bit of a waiting game, i'd say if they've sent it to the calculations department there going to uphold it.0 -

Some have won misolds on online applications but it is very much harder to prove as the lender will say that you had all your t&c's online etc but it is not impossible to win a claim0 -
Hi all
Have had a success with MBNA claiming that they used a pre ticked box for PPI. Received back just over £16k. Does anybody know if Natwest used pre ticked boxes?0 -
Hi there,
Do you think I should ring Lloyds today? I have given it well over a week since last ringing them and I still have not received an acnowledgment from them. (even though I have proof of receipt from post office and Daniel from Lloyds told me that Blackhorse was in the same building)
Or should I just send new forms to Blackhorse at the address that was given to me by Ashley from Blackhorse in Cardiff?
Thanks in advance.0
