week. You know it's been received, anyway.0 -

In either case, only the lender (and the insurer, if you claimed) would keep records of this.
Hi
Thanks for the reply, sorry should have made the question a bit clearer! Was just worried that if you do claim for a refund that it goes against you ie on your credit record.
One more questions, my outstanding A/L credit card account was transfered over to MBNA, I have been paying the PPI insurance first with A/L and now with MBNA, can i claim even though there my account is still open with them?
Any help is much appreciated.

What year was this loan taken out and who with (Argos or FP) , did you get the cash back and what were the calculations they gave you for the redress?.
Dear Amersall
I took the loan out 5 years ago with Argos HomeLoans. The First Plus paperwork for the PPI stated that I could reclaim my premiums for the insurance after the 5 years expired provided I had not made a claim on the policy which I hadn't. They sent me a request form at the end of February which I completed and returned at the end of March when the 5 years was up. I was repaid the entire amount of the premium I paid. However from what Ive read on other forums it would appear that I will still be charged interest on the original premium amount for the remainder of the duration of the loan which surely can't be correct especially as I'm now not covered by the insurance. I read somewhere that you can reclaim the interest, do you know if thats correct? Many thanks.:)0 -

Thanks Moneyineptitude but it's been 7 weeks now and they haven't even acknowledged receipt.

Thanks for the response. I feel like I have so many questions at the moment but I'll try to limit them to each stage.
Obviously I'm going to wait until I get the information I've requested back from both accounts but what am I looking for from it??? Are these claims valid right back to when I opened the accounts or just the last 6 years?
Hi forest your just looking for evidence of ppi really, if you have the proof you paid the ppi right from the start then thats when you can claim back too, good luck.0 -
Ok im finding all this a bit baffling!!
Just found 2 old statements for old credit cards which both show i was paying ppi. (Virgin & Barclaycard)
I know both were taken out over the phone and i know i have no need for ppi.
I think i might have had ppi on an old loan with abbey national, an old credit card with hsbc and a current loan with hsbc - my question is - can i just ring the companies tomorrow (without knowing account numbers) and just ask them if i have it??
Will they start the claim there and then or do i still have to fill out the forms to claim??
Thanks0 -
