Armed with this information, you could then send the Financial Ombudsman's PPI Consumer Questionnaire. It's this questionnaire which you have already sent to the Bank and been rejected on the grounds that they don't have enough information for the loans in question.
It's just possible that a SAR may provide the extra info required. So don't delay (it takes up to 40 days), go to the link and send the letter!0 -

Hi everyone,
After a few days away from the dreaded situation with GE Money/Norton Ripoffs we have reached the conclusion that its better left in the hands of the FOS. I had a long conversation with a member of their staff on Friday who confirmed that there were a number of issues that GE needed to answer for, and they show no sign of stopping. I can't remember if I've mentioned that we received a letter from GE on Friday the 17th, apologising for the delay in them reversing the charges they had offered in Octobrt, and saying they would send a cheque for £50 as a goodwill gesture. Has this cheque materialised? Don't be silly! Of course not!
Anyway, the lady at the FOS suggested we start a new complaint against GE on the grounds that the loan shouldn't have been sold in the first place. That's a bit of a tricky one, so I'm wondering how we would approach this. I've been through my sister's bank statements that she submitted to Norton in her application, and they clearly state that she was in receipt of Jobseekers Allowance, both at the time of her application and for at least six months before. Surely should have started the alarm bells ringing in Norton's/GE's ears, as any responsible lender would have asked how a person could be claiming Jobseekers Allowance whilst earning from self employment. But having seen her application, I know that all my sister had to provide was 3 months of bank statements, a utlities bill and a letter claiiming she was self employed. No respected lender would have looked twice at her application, but since she'd told Norton she owned her own flat, and was in receipt of a high level of disability living allowance (therefore emphasizing she was disabled) she was granted the finance. I'm not sure how to proceed here so any advice would be very much appreciated. Thanks.0 -

Thank you for your recent email enquiry.
I am sorry you feel the Payment Protection Policy (PPP) on your account was mis-sold. I can understand why you feel so concerned about this so I've looked into it straight away for you.
I'd like to explain our procedures for arranging Payment Protection. From August 1993 we required customers to select this option by either ticking the appropriate box on a Directory Card request form, by returning a Payment Protection coupon, or by requesting it by telephone. Cover would not have been arranged without one of these options being chosen.
Our records show that your account was opened on 12th January 1998, but this insurance wasn't taken out until 15th April 1999. The charges have been detailed on all monthly account statements, and you could have written to us at any time to cancel it.
I need to let you know that we did not provide advice or recommendations on the suitability of the policy because we were not required to at the time. So I'm afraid the responsibility was yours to ensure it was suitable.
Also, the Financial Ombudsman Service only investigates cases based on incidents occurring after 6th April 2007. And Next is not a firm regulated by the Financial Services Authority for the purposes of insurance sales. So neither body’s rules and regulations apply in this instance.
I know this won't be the response you'd wanted. But I really do appreciate you bringing this to my attention and giving me the chance to explain our position.0 -
Hi, I sent off letter to several different companies to reclaim PPI. I received letters from each saying they would look into it and I would hear by xxxxx date.
Those dates have now passed and Ive heard nothing. Do I just send a letter chasing them or is there a template letter I can use? Whats the best thing to do?!?
Want to make sure I do it all 100& right!
Many thanks!0 -

Hi onslow have 8 weeks gone by? if they have you could fos this although there are massive hold ups in the system at the moment, i'd be inclined to just phone them and ask what they are doing.0 -
