    Hi all

I've just completed a form to reclaim PPI on my mortgage. Not sure if we will be successful but my friend just received £5400 on hers after a friend of her just got £13k so thought it's worth a try?

Its with Norwich & Peterborough, wonder if anyone else out there has had any success with them?

My hubby is and was self employed at the time so we are going along the route that it isn't worth diddly if you are self employed.

Also my hubby is gonna try to reclaim PPI on his Barclayloan and Barclaycard on the same basis. Any success stories here? His loan is still running with barclays so he is more than happy to use it to pay back the debt if he is successful.

So many success stories on here, just hope we can add to this list and thanks to so many people who have commented on this site, it's amazing:wave:

Not sure about the Mortgage one, some MPPI is not reclaimable, see what they say.

The Barclay loan, if mis sold, will be redressed, the CC may be more difficult as it shows on each statement and the logic is you could have cancelled this any time throughout the period you had the card for, some have won with Barclaycard so do not give up hope.

If you are in arrears they can take redress, if won, to loan and cc amounts outstanding, if they are up to date then the redress should come to you.

Some banks are clearing loans and cc with these wins, not heard of Barclays doing this though.
  • Hello!

I contacted Lloyds TSB at the end of Feb to regarding loans taken ou with them and mis-selling of PPI on them - I received a letter on 8 March advising they will investigate and get back to me.

My first loan was for £8k taken out in 2002 when I was a student. PPI was automatically added on, obviously not relevant as I wasn't even earning!

In 2003 I refinanced to a £12000 loan with PPI again added on without my knowledge.

I refinanced again in 2006 for a £8000 loan - at the time of taking this out the sales lady said I would only be able to refinance if I agreed to the PPI!

Further evidence - in 2006 before the refinancing I was made redundant and I didn't claim the PPI as I was not aware I even had it!

Anyway my main question is the 8 weeks a likely timescale?

EDIT I forgot to add the loan was settled early in July 2007.

    Thanks

It's impossible to say. Some are reporting a complete turnaround with the money in the account in just a few weeks. Others are experiencing significant delays.

Sent a claim in to Tesco at the end of February, was so excited to see another letter today only for it to say they were waiting for internal information from other departments before they can proceed any further. So it looks i'm going have to wait the 8 weeks. Darn shame as i'm off to Orlando next week, never mind should have put a claim in earlier. :(
  • Unfortunately, even if you had sent a SAR letter, the Bank are not obliged to keep records going back more than six years.
What information did you actually hold prior to your complaint and what reasons did you give for mis-selling?

    Hi thanks for the reply..
To be honest i had know idea at all that i'd taken out the ppi, i'd called the bank to enquire as to whether i'd had any on my previous or current accounts and was told that yes it was showing up on a flexi-loan i once i had, so from there i sent the SAR forms in.. But the fact that they told me i had it must mean they hold records on the account!!

You never mentioned getting a SAR earlier. What did the SAR show with regard the Flexi-loan?

I'm going to sound like a complete moron now... i assumed that the SAR you mentioned was the standard complaints form which i downloaded from this site... That is the only form i have sent off.
