PPI Reclaiming Discussion Part 5

Hello there,
I too have had a request from HSBC to fill in a fos questionnaire.
I was unsure as to the account numbers of the loans I have had so I phoned them up and they gave me the account no's for 5 loans which I have had with them over the years, but said they could not tell me which ones had PPI and which ones didn't.
I know at least 3 did have PPI but not sure of the corresponding account numbers.
Should I fill in a form for each account anyway?
or is it bad practice to try and claim from an account which may or may not have had PPI?
Any advice appreciated.
Just got off phone and I had PPI on all 5. got some writing to do *Sharpens pencil*0 -

Should I write HSBC a letter anyway, requesting the info that they have already told me they no longer have? seems unlikely I'll get anywhere that way. Would my credit report have such account details?
Thanks so much, John
don't do it john, mark is right the cmc will let you do all the leg work and take all the money. you will have to send them proof you had the ppi on the borrowing and you'll do all the chasing, trust me on this we're right mate0 -

You might get numbers off your credit report best way is to sar them see all links below

You need to get this info anyway, a claims co get you to fill a Sar in and they post it off and take a hefty chunk of your redress plus Vat, if you want to give any redress away after you have done all the leg work, then use a company, otherwise, stick with the help on this site for free and keep all of your redress.
We have posters on here who have used claims cos and then have posted that they are taking a huge % for doing nothing, they cannot make any claim faster or easier, just like you or i can't, they have to follow the reclaim procedure.0 -
2nd post a bit nervous but now need some advice - i sent a SARS request using your template letter with the £10 cheque -to Santander - have had a letter and the cheque back to say they can find nothing on my file - no banking or Credit /store cards however they said there was a loan which showed up which had no PPI on it -
My credit report showed 2 store cards and a credit card and the loan details so was not expecting this response from them
My question is should they not send me a copy of my file etc as i requested ?
What is my next step ?0 -
The thing I would like to know is I have heard through a claim handler of an addition of 8% can be claimed of the interest had it been in my bank. How do you calculate the interest??
If you know the PPI monthly amount and the date of the first payment, then look here
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/bank-charges#step2
Go on the Bank charge calculator and put each day, month, year of each payment of PPI to the date of redress and this will keep a total of the 8%.
The 8% is a decreasing amount each month from loan start date to the date you receive redress, the nearer you get to the redress date, the lower the 8%.0 -
