  • Put in a whole lot of claims via resolver about 6 weeks ago .
within 6 weeks halifax gave me 2.5k.
received letters in last 2 week from amex, barclaycard, cardiff pinnacle all stating that due to high volume of claims unable to process my claim within the time frame. all giving the option of raising a complaint with the ombudsmen. Im thinking since they have acknowledged the claim and all seem to have found a ppi number then i should leave them to carry on with their investigations. cardiff pinnacle also wrote to say they are awaiting info from GE over a secured loan i took out in 2003 with a front loaded ppi single payment. Amex i did noy use resolver i rang. gave name and address at time. they confirmed on phone that i had ppi and would raise a complaint. i rang them 3 weeks later to be told no record of my first call, however i left details again and asked for written confirmation which i received last week.
do i really need to raise a complaint now with the ombudsman before tomorrows deadline, or
can i still do this at a later stage since they all are still investigating my claims.

Cant emphasize the need for people to put in claims after receiving the 2.5k from Halifax who i thought would never be the case.
Barclaycard wrote a letter associating ppi with 3 cards. this afternoon found an old cheque book from 1993 showing cheques made to barclaycard think ill put in another claim to see weather i had any loans whilst with woolich and to see weather that barclycard has been picked up.

Another query is that some letters came back with need more info, for eg i found a message i sent to a broker in the millinum year 2000 outlining all my debts as i was applying for a mortgage. i stated to the broker i had a loan of £9000 with aliance and lester which ive long forgotton about. anyway sent a claim to santandar via resolver. they wrote back to say cant find any thing as such case closed unless i have paperwork. is this a dead case or could i still produce info after the deadline if i did a S.A.R .
its the same note to the broker which indicated i also had a loan with halifax.
I used resolver for halifax no paperwork at all. halifax wrote and text me about 3 times within the 6 weeks to say they investigating , they had five differnt loans going back to the early 90s and just happended to have ppi on third loan taken out in 98.

Thank you resolver , mse and all contributors, well chuffed
  • Contacted NatWest through resolver, they agreed that I had 7 loans with PPI. They came back to me a few weeks later saying that it the it was not in the allotted time under some section. The loans were between 2000-2009 so I don’t understand

I’d hold your horses re the ombudsman, the deadline doesn’t apply to them and it’s to be expected at this stage that the lenders are busier than they ever have been. They’re at least keeping you in the loop and being honest as to why it’s taking so long.

Re your next issue, you could try an info request if Santander are auto converting but to be honest if they’ve already come back to you and said it’s a no trace, you’ll need paperwork to evidence it, especially on a loan that old

    it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
    their - 'owned by them'
    they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)

It sounds like you’ve been timebarred. They’ll have written to you over 3 years ago offering you a review of the sales and you’ve either ignored it or missed it (have you moved address in the last 6-8 years?)

What has equifax got to do with anything, did/do you still bank with them, if so you should’ve updated your addresses directly.

If not to you may have a case for not receiving any documentation, however onus will be on you to prove you were not at the address at the time of their sending
  • Hi, I took out a car finance agreement back in 2003, which was fully paid off and included PPI

I’ve got all of the original paperwork, but searching through the forums I couldn’t spot any success stories, and DAF aren’t in the Resolver drop down menu

    Is it still worth pursuing?
  • Hi all,
Can I claim ppi on an old JJB store card? Creation finance (the lender involved) have said no cause JJB no longer exists. Is this right, or should I push back against this?

It’s not an issue of if they exist or not, bigger problem is likely to be lack of any information or evidence after all this time... if you have any evidence you paid PPI on this card provide it to them and ask them to look again.
