My dog ate my homework thirty years ago. Will that count?
You might need a specialist CMC for that.helpful tips
it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
their - 'owned by them'
they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)0 -
How many posts will there be Friday in the realm of ‘I fell asleep last night before I could complain, can a CMC take my claim on?’ and similar?0

I tried the Resolver tool, not very helpful for me. It would not take the password I had put in so i requested a new one, which said they had sent _NO password reset arrived. So then tried anther link shown, 'this page does not exist' !!0

Easy solution is to bypass resolver and complain to your lenders directhelpful tips

Been asked to help a relative with this as the deadline is so close.
They've had various loans/ credit cards etc over the years but they have lost the paperwork so hard to fill out the claim form as they don't have the account numbers / start dates etc.
On a positive note its only really with 2 banks so I was thinking of telling them to just send a PPI Check Request to the bank directly as according to the below that should be enough to get around the deadline if something comes back.2. To beat the deadline in most cases, you simply need to check IF you had PPI
Banks used to treat a 'check whether you had PPI' and 'complaint about PPI' as separate things. Now most banks have agreed with regulator the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) that someone simply enquiring if they had PPI counts as starting a complaint for the purposes of the deadline.
Major firms which count a check as beating the deadline: Bank of Scotland, Barclaycard, Barclays, Capital One, Citibank, Clydesdale Bank, Co-operative Bank, Egg, Halifax, HSBC, Lloyds, MBNA, Mint, Nationwide, NatWest, NRAM (Northern Rock), RBS, Ulster Bank, Yorkshire Bank.
Major firms which still separate a check and a complaint: Santander (though if you do a check with it, provided it is before the 11.59pm 29 August deadline, then you will have 12 weeks after it responds to put in a complaint).
Does that sound like good advice or should they just do the complaint form without any real info?0 -
Just stick the complaint in. If it comes back that there’s no trace then you can go back with any evidence you might have unearthed in the meantime.
Unless it’s one of the lenders above auto converting your inquiry into a complaint, it’s just unnecessary messing about.helpful tips

They are both lenders who will auto convert the enquiry into a complaint but like you say I don't want to add any unnecessary delay.
It's just that if I put the complaint in for them now I won't have any dates or account numbers to add to the form so I wondered if that would be outright rejected or they'll just do a PPI check anyway making the "PPI Check Enquiry" pointless.0 -
Probably a silly question. I have used resolver for a claim to Evans now Santander two days ago. I have a reply from resolver saying they have submitted my claim. Should I still check with Santander that they have it, or can I trust resolver as I don't expect to hear from Santander direct before the deadline. Thank you xx0

I’d check. Resolver isn’t 100% reliable.helpful tips
