Sainsbury's Margarita made my girlfriend sick

I'm not interested in being told what mistakes I've made.
I'm not interested in people sticking up for supermarkets in a moneysaving forum.
I'm not interested in backhanded advice laced with condescension.
I am interested in financial compensation, I don't care if I don't deserve it by the book. There are giant threads on here going on about how to cheat tescos out of 2 quid on mispriced items... I didn't think this was a space to vent frustration at people trying to get a few pence back from the fat cats?
Like the remote said above me - keep up the good work you lot0 -
You deserve nothing.
Infact you owe me compo for reading your dribble.
Its clear you would chase an ambulance to tell them to claim compo or pretend to be hurt Mr Barnes.
Go a pair and grow up move on0 -

And that, Sir, is one of the reasons this country is in the state it's in.
I really hope you and your girlfriend get what you deserve...nothing.You have been reading.....another magnificent post by garethgas :beer:0 -
If Sainsburys have been negligent with the labelling of products, the OP is likely to win compensation - and rightly so.
If they have not, they will probably get nothing. Again, rightly so.0 -
I'll ask you again OP, as you still haven't answered.
Have you actually asked Sainsbury's if the product contains aspartame, and what did they say?Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

If your aim was to force Sainsburys to label their products correctly and clearly. I reckon you would have had the full support of everyone here.
Going for compensation when part of the fault is your own is not going to gain you any fans. It is also very un-MSE. When big companies pay out compensation claims. It does not come from the CEOs pay packet. What happens is that prices go up to cover the costs of these claims. Your claim as part of this means that we could end up with higher shopping bills.
Having had a quick look around the net. I came across this interesting fact.....................
In 2007, Sainsburys announced they would no longer use aspartame in their own label products
Thankfully, I don't think you have got any chance of a successful claim. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

Fans?
Why would I want fans on a forum?
I wanted some advice and I got it - the effort outweighs the outcome.
Just got a bit irritated by this gang of pedants - you lot aren't STUPID as such but your value system is warped.
The outrage you purport is hypocritical, verging on the bi-polar.
I take the above point about price inflation, but if that is what this site is worried about, then I doubt many of you sleep at night considering the large number of threads detailing ways in which to get more for your buck (short term) from supermarkets.
I know you are gonna keep on retaliating with your faux-PC righteousness, but really, what offends you so deeply about somebody querying the ingredients to an item?
Don't spout me that 'reason the country is the way it is' BS, its simply not true. We are not talking about a lawsuit against a playground, we're talking about whether the supermarket is likely to offer me an incentive to continue my trade with them. They have every right to say no, and then the decision is mine. However if they give me a voucher or a free steak, or a complimentary bottle of Hobgoblin then my custom is less likely to veer towards another conglomerate .
If you feel that a ten pound voucher from J. Sainsburys to J. Barnes would constitute a traversty capable of upsetting your finely tuned moral compass then I do apologise.
I am truly regretful that your lives have so little meaning that you derive a conceited pleasure from putting me in my place.0 -
OP, why have you completely ignored Peachyprice's question...peachyprice wrote: »Have you actually asked Sainsbury's if the product contains aspartame, and what did they say?0
