I love Jack Johnson and the lyrics to Better Together are really lovely, Snow Patrol have some lovely song - there is a live version of Chasing Cars on their best of album if if you like the song.

Picking a first dance song was one of the hardest decisions we had.
We didn't want a slow shuffle, but all the upbeat songs that "meant" something to us were rave tunes, which wouldv'e been too silly (although we did find a classical version of N-Trance Set u Free to walke up the aisle too :rotfl:)

In the end we went with Human League (well Phil Oakley) Together in Electric dreams, just because it was fun, and we'd seen them live, so there was a tenuous link.
We had dance lessons too, and the actual first dance was fun.
Plus, the song now means something to us!

I'm having a nightmare with the first dance song!

my fiance and i are both massively into music and want something that's meaningful to us....unfortunately, our first ever dance was to "dragula" by rob zombie....and the first gig we went to together was combichrist (extremely rude and totally inappropriate for...well any occasion lol)

We're having similar problems. Our first dance was Spitfire by the Prodigy - Dragula is one of my favourite songs. OH's favourite band is NIN so we could go for an instrumental...

We are both massive Carpenters fans (OK, both in our fifties!) and got married 27+ years ago. BUT if you want a really meaningful first dance song and are stuck , we had the same song for our processional and for our first dance, "We've Only Just Begun" by The Carpenters. If you don't know it look up the lyrics, I defy you not to agree it is extremely appropriate!

Me and my OH are having Tim Mcgraw and Faith Hill - It's your love as our first dance song. Nice and slow and very easy to shuffle to as neither of us dance lol
