  • Also have 6 songs to chose, and struggling....

I want don't stop by fleetwood mac as we leave the registry office - it's a song that i've sung at full belt in the car when it comes on the radio thanks to my dad.
When you're chewing on life's gristle, don't grumble, give a whistle.

  • Couldn't you have an instrumental version of the song? Maybe something a bit like this but instrumental? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uK0bfPL5jco

  • My sister & brother in law had "You do something to me" by Paul Weller as their first dance which I thought was a pretty cool choice.

Best was a friend of mine, surname Robinson who had "Here's to you Mrs Robinson" (the lemonheads version) as the first dance at his wedding - it was unexpected but worked.

I've no idea what my OH and I will have - we don't really have just one song that is special to us, and I'm not overly fond of ballads. (He's more into that sort of thing than me to be honest).

If it were down to me I'd probably end up picking Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol.

As I'd been married before I wanted ' Oops I did it again' by Britney ...but wifey wouldn't let me.

We settled for ' From this moment' by Shania Twain...lovely lyrics to it and ideal for a First Dance IMO.

    Good luck with everything anyway.

  • Me and OH (not engaged yet...) have discussed the following... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TcfN4cNaDpM (listen to the lyrics :rotfl:) as it is *so* us and we are always singing it at each other! Plus, half the people wouldn't realise the sentiment. Plus, Sex on Fire (our song too!) The look on OH's mum's face would be well worth it!
